Best Overall Character in KH

Mine was definetly Riku; he was the one that was supposed to have the KEyblade, until Sora came along. Plus he looked awfully powerful in his dark mode.

I loved Riku, poor guy, He meant well, he was just a little twisted. xD Maybe he was 'supposed' to be the original Keyblade master but he took to the darkside to save Kairi :/ it was so sad :*( Plus his character is well developped xD He's not inherently evil, just misguided and a little bit jealous of Sora's new friends o.O

I picked Riku, just because I liked the fact he wasn't afraid to delve into the darkness to try and save Kairi, it showed courage, even if it was an effort doomed to fail. It was really a tie with Sora though. They both had great qualities about them that made me love their characters.

cant choose sure Rikku was cool he gave everything for Kairi and Sora well he was quite cool too seing as he was the hero but I did find it wierd at first that when squall "Swings" the Key blade it magically appears in Sora's hands but then when Rikku swung it it did not though I have to say as an NPC I pick Cloud out of the lot of them he was so bloody hard to fight in the colloseum it made my hands hurt.

Still Rikku was my favourite but Kairi was cute - almost too cute for my liking she sounded like she ate nothing but sugar

Riku's willingness to delve into darkness to save Kairi was noble, but stupid. But the "I'm not afriad of the darkness!" scene with Sora at the beginning made me quiver with joy. It was just awesome. Tips the game in Riku's favor for me.

Riku had the tragic hero story, but Sora's had a tragic-ish hero story as well. He prevailed in the end, but at the price of the two friends he came for. The real goal the he had set from the beginning he did not accomplish, but he had to make a choice to serve the greater good and save all of the worlds instead of save his friends and go back home, and it was so sad at the end. I like Sora's character because of that.

There's quite a many characters who I really like in KH, and I can't choose between them. I like seeing Aeris return, and her character remained nice and sweet, and she wasn't trying to annoy Tifa this time, so I didn't have any problems with her. Sora is the main character, and I can identify with him rather well. Another probable pick. Kairi and Riku are good characters too. As for Disney characters, I like Ariel and Belle. Ariel's personality is fun, and her being a party member is another plus. Belle's also a nice character, and I really like her dialogues in Hollow Bastion's library, especially when she speaks about Ansem. Way to go, Beauty!

BTW in Finland, Riku is a boy's name. So it's not an imaginary name. I've never heard of anyone called Rikku IRL, though.

In Japanese (and Finnish), there is an audible difference between a single k and a double k, which is realised as a terminating k and an ordinary k in two different syllables - it's like saying rick-koo, but faster and more together.

Riku is, as Sephy said, a Finnish boy-name, but Rikku isn't a word at all, though it rhymes with "tikku" which means "stick". On a side note, Tiku is the finnish name for one of the Chipmunks. Chip?

And of course the Finnish /r/ and /u/ are different from the Japanese r and u. I don't know about the i and k. Oh, and the words have different kinds of stress-thingies - if the Japanese stress thingie can be called a stress thingie at all.

Riku all the way! There was just something about him that was so cool. He's definitley one of the coolest characters I've seen in a video game. Not one of those annoying little kids. Maybe it's just me, but I thought his voice was absolutely perfect for him. It fit him really well.

UNMARKED SPOILERS:
i also loved that his character was very sad, and tragic. i really wanted him to kick the crap out of maleficent, but all you could do was sit there and watch him fall deeper into the darkness. when he ws closing the door, at the very end with sora, and i saw that he was closing in from behind....that made me tear up. (i think i'm a sap at heart).

Anyways, Riku's one of ym favorite characters of all time. I just hope there's more of him KH2.

other character that is real cool is squall (as usuall) but
i think it was good to see the side of him that kingdom hearts showed

Riku, he was supposed to have the KeyBlade I mean until he opened his Heart to darkness then he got that evil KeyBlade because the KeyBlade chose Sora cuz' of his pure heart Riku is still cooler though. Yeah that is some kickass music on Sephy's battle.
