Okay, for those of you who remember, there's four people that graduate from the test that Squall participated in at Dollet. There's himself, of course, and Zell and Selphie. But what about the other guy?

Even when he's being congratulated by Headmaster Cid, you see right away that he's destined to a life of relative anonymity. "Keep working hard, even if you don't stand out." Wow, what brilliant motivational words to give to an aspiring young agent!

Then, upon walking out of Cid's office, you see he's not prancing about. "17 years of hard work has finally paid off!" He seems relieved, yes, but also a bit discouraged. Why do you think he's leaning against the railing, looking all sad?

If memory serves from other threads, that dude is supposed to be the dude that pilots Balamb Garden here and there in the later stages of the game. But, seriously, he's getting the shaft when you consider that Squall and company are out and about in the world kickin' ass and taking names. What is this guy doing? Driving.

I don't even know the guy's name offhand, which tells you how unfortunate his fate is. And how badly I feel for him. What do you think he would've given to be with Squall while saving the world? It's truly a sad affair.

Lets name him steve, and in ff8-2 he kills squal and becomes an evil vilain because he was sore about not being a hero, then Rinoa grows bitter and becomes Ultimecia and kills him....or something

What do you need, like a Class G for that?

LOL. :P

But seriously, I don't think Nida got completely shafted. We DO know his name, and he's reoccuring enough to be a secondary character. He's kind of like Xu - she's a SeeD that doesn't see the main action but nevertheless has obvious duties and responsibilities. Not everyone can stand on the front lines, somebody's gotta hold down the fort. And come on, if you had a Class G license, wouldn't you want to take that thing for a spin?

Yeah, but everyone knows Xu. Hey, she gave the briefing for the SeeD test in Dollet, right?

I just played through the part at Balamb Garden with the factions and stuff, and when you run into Nida in front of the infirmary (I think, something on the left), Squall doesn't remember who he is.

SeeDs Anonymous.

I wonder why Squall is so great in the eyes of the other students? During the Garden battle, Nida tells him:

"you may not realise it, but everyone in this Garden likes you. They look up to you."

And I can't help but wonder why. He's only a newbie SeeD. He's not very talkative and probably gives everyone in Garden the cold shoulder. He doesn't even follow the SeeD dress code.

I'm not sure about this and correct me if I am wrong. But if you talk to Nida twice after you come out from Cid's office after the four candidates become SeeDs, he saws something like "Someday I will rule this Garden." Nida is planning to overthrow the Headmaster!

Ouch!

I'm not so sure about that. I just played through the game recently, and if I recall, you don't get to control yourself directly after becoming SeeDs, except to talk to Cid and get the battle meter. You just walk into the second floor hallway and Seifer begins the slow clap.

I remember that line. I think he was just being overly optimistic. :rolleyes2

No. first you get to talk to Selphie and Zell (who are jumping around like their pants are on fire) as well as Nida.

Great guy, though he sometimes blends into the background.

Take care all.
