Any Rinoa Haters

I was wondering if there were any rinoa haters like me out there! Because everyone I have talked to or asked before always say "how can you hate rinoa" or "shes the coolest and prettiest" I despise her! shes annoying and ends up with squall even if you try and be a total jackass towards her! poor quistis ^^ Rinoa is the worst final fantasy character ever in my opinion... what do all of you think?

Rinoa is bad. So is this rap. But my rap's existence makes sense. Rinoa's existence did not.

When Seifer, the man she'd dated (and may still have been dating), dies, she's sad. For about an hour. Once they get to Galbadia Garden, she's already trying to get into Squall's pants.
In her defence... she went out with Seifer the summer before the the events in the game, a year before meeting Squall. Everyone was saddened by Seifer's death, but they're all fighters so they were prepared to face that kind of bad news. She was basically flirting with Squall from the time they met, but since she wasn't seeing Seifer then, it doesn't reflect on her morality too much.

I found Rinoa to be a little more open and positive than Squall, certainly demanding and uppity, but strong in a way too - going on with SeeD in a fight that doesn't concern her, because it's 'the right thing to do' for the world.

Still, not every female game character can be like Lulu or Aeris or Celes; there's always going to be a mixture of good and bad.

Well I'm not saying she was with Seifer then, but it really shouldnt matter. I mean... flirting with someone an hour after someone who was important to you (friend or otherwise) has just been killed is just wrong. She had been flirting with him from the beginning, yes, but once Seifer was dead she threw herself at Squall.

I really hated Yuna in FFX. Her voice and the way she was always soo thankful and appreciative made me sick. Everywhere she went she bowed like 30 times to some prick or another. For the most part I think Rhinoa was a way better female Character then Quintist or Selphie. Aerith is a friggin video game character. Her death isnt some terrible event we should all cry about. I laughed my ass off when it happened.

Selphie annoyed me, but Quistis had a sense of class and calm, which pretty much everyone else in the party was lacking. The only thing that sucks about those two was the way Square shoved them in the background and didnt give them any development or spotlight, instead focusing only on the angst teen love deal with Squall and Rinoa.

Yeah, I understand feeling for her... but as for not feeling for her, it doesnt make one a heartless monster. I've felt connections to characters before, and been moved by their stories and cry when they die and all, but they're all only a story in the end. Nothing real.

I seemed to hate all the main love interests in FFs. Aeris wasn't really the love interest but i still hated her. When I reached the City of The Antiencts, I was smiling so much:D:D I hurried along, eager to let her die. I almost cried when the rest of the party stopped Cloud from killing her. Tifa was way better. Rhioa was just as bad. I would of preferred if Squall had ended with Zell or Irvine. When I reached the end of that game, Zell, Irvine and Squall were on L100. The ladies were on under 20. Selpie was on L12. On FF9 Garnet sucked so much ass. Vivi should of just burnt her to deat. Then I would of enjoyed her part in the game. Yuna *sigh* was proberley the best out of the 4. Although she still sucked. As Tidus in the swimming scene when they kiss I so wanted him to keep her underwater and drown her. Although I used Yuna alot in Battle it was only because no-one else could summon. At the end when she runs through Tidus and falls over, I really wanted her to fall of the ship.

I guess the contrast of Squall and Rinoa made the game insteresting, probably giving more effect than a down to earth love interest. I guess it would have been good to see a more down to earth relationship in the game, with another couple.

Well,as far as your Tifa*Cloud*Aeris thing goes-you may be abit mistake. CLOUD loved Tifa.ALways had always will.Zack loved(many asumme...i dont) Aeris. Zack dated Aeris. Cloud was Zack at the begining of the game,in disk one, because his mind was all messed up. He thought he was Zack, and should love Aeris.Once his mind was stright again, he relized he loved Tifa and the only resons he loved Aeris was because he was Zack..

Now, for the Rinoa*Squall*Quistis- Quistis didnt love Squall the way Rinoa did!If you remember the first orphanage flashback, Quistis even tells you she thought she loved squall romantically, but it was just a big sister type of love because she was always watching out for everyone else,because she wanted to be so much like Elle.

Rinoa was just a twit. She was a good character in many aspects. She was a present day hero, joining a force to help Timber gain indipendance. She was a typicall teen- rolled up in cutesie stuff and gooy romances. She was a all round good person, nice to everyone she met. She was a girl with normal fears- she didnt want to go and die( by trying to stop the sorceress she could have),but she didnt complain. She even tryed to stop Edea on her own. She was a good character. I dont hate her,but her personaity wasnt to my taste. But thats alright,shes a good character anyway for all of the aspects i mentioned.

yes but cloud WASNT ZACK. he was a mix up of the two and after the life stream event he didnt lose zack within him, only he realised the truth. the bottom line is cloud loved them both and they both loved him(the zack and cloud bits) and thats why there love triangle rocked so much. someone would always lose out.

So she was free-spirited, and a lill ditzy...most girls here age are a LOT worse and practically throw themselves at boys, at least she picked on and retained her dignity.

I personally Like the FF8 character set quite a bit. They tend to be more done to earth realistic characters(althought they tend to lean to the extreme sides but that is alright). I know many a person that makes rinoa look like a saint, and I have never been for those perfect legend heros that some games have... I like them being human and having their faults, it makes them more likable imo. And she does sorta grow up throughout the game.
