Hello everybody!
This Cerberus thing looks like he's never gonna be defeated
Can you tell me please how could you beat him?
I mean his lv. is only 17 & he won't give up no matter what! He's so mean with his 3 big empty heads :eep:

one of the first he tries to do is to cast triple on himself, so when he does, have someone cast dispell on him to remove it. he tries this alot, i believe.
he also beserks you, but just use esuna.
other than that, id try to mug him for his speed-j scroll (i think its speed), and just pound him with meltdown, then physical attacks. also draw out all the triples you can (great to juntion)
its been awhile so i dont know if he has triples at every level. i never remember having any trouble with him, only that i beat him before i can mug from him :)

hes 1 of many ff8 bosses that seem hard on my first play but r a push over on your second.
but yeah, just stop his triple, that is the key thing to do and your be fine. of course auras and meltdowns if u have them that soon r infinitly useful.

Thaaaaaaaaaaaanx alot for u guys I've just beated him :D
Well I have another question, why do I have to collect all of those GFs?
I mean when I fight in battles I need only 3, so why bother?
Also, what's the use of Siren? I never got used of him at any battle!

You don't have to get all the GFs, they're just very handy.

siren is a GIRL lol, and casts silence on all the enemys but most bosses and hard enemies will be immune. it does damage 2 but very little.
though to be honest all the gfs by the end of the game except eden, cerberus and doomtrain will be of little use in battle. but you need them to master the game,
plus u should get at least 6 to keep your characters junctioned all at once, and the best gfs give wicked junction abilities for your characters in terms of stats and status/elemental protection, as well as refining those cards into items :)

Juctioning GF's also make you more powerful, make you HP go up and give you some awesome ablilites, so thats why its good to get them all, so you can get all there ablilities etc.

Thank you all :D
Then SHE can be useful sometimes, that's better for her :D
Till now I have missed 2 GFs, Alexander and Pandemona, this won't be a problem, will it? :sweatdrop
by the way where's the Sorceress? after I've beated Seifer she disappeared & I think that Squall said something but I didn't notice it

It shouldn't matter if you have missed those 2 too much. Its all good. Umm it depends where you are up to in the game, if you are at galbadia garden and have just defeated Seifer, go back down the elevator and keep going straight and go to the auditorium, its not to hard to find!
Hope it helps :D

Thank you very much rusty angel & aeris, that really helped me alot, I found Edea & I'm still trying to beat her!
the battle with her is really very long & after all, I'm the one who lose
Any advice?
I remember that bastard dog..... I lost on my first try too ;_;. I can't remember what I did exactly but I remember leveling up a whole lot (i think to 30?).
For edea... use cerberus! haste and GFs. I thought fighting edea was much easier than cerberus... maybe because i was more prepared? *shrugs*

On my first time he was hard until Angelo used Invincible Moon.
On my second time, Zell had a Str of 255... one hit KO. Just make sure to Mug his Spd-J Scroll

Edea isn't that hard really. You'll have to fight Seifer again here. He's no harder than he was before, except he's a little stronger but I'm pretty sure he has less HP. Anyway, you can't attack Edea until you defeat him, so do so, but keep your HP at a safe level so you'll be ready for Edea who attacks as soon as Seifer goes down. Edea here is a bit smarter than the one at Deling City. Casting Carbuncle or Reflect won't work, she'll just cast Reflect on herself and bounce spells onto you. At this point of the game, Squall should be your best attacker, doing around 800-1000 damage per triggered attack. It'll do more damage on Edea. She has a low vitality stat. Have one person with lots of Esuna for when she uses Maelstrom (but you only need to use it one Squall, the other two charactersdon't matter.) and another character that's not Squall to do the healing. Recover (learnt from Leviathan) and Treatment (from Siren) helps a lot. Remember to draw Alexander as well.
BTW, you can get Pandemona later on. All the way in disc 4, you can draw it from the bosses in Ultimecia's Castle.

The first time I played I wasted time with regen and magic.
DO NOT DO THIS, USE ALL YOUR MAGIC IN JUCTIONS.
The second time I beat cerby with one of Zells limits!
Refine curaga from tents at the shop (100 curagas for each character)and junction them to strength.
str junct is developed with Ifrit or you can buy it a pet shop in timber you'll need to do this first.

Thank you all, I beat her and I -simply- didn't draw Alexander
well I have another problem as usual :D
Where can I find the White Ship (in Disc 3)? Edea said that it is stationed by an inlet somewhere on the Centra continent, but where's Centra continent first?

I do not know the specific location, but keep flying balamb around the water near Centra and you will eventually find it. Although, it will be a little hard to see.

Where is Centra?

You know where the orphanaga (Edea's house) is located right? Along with Cactuar Islands, the place where you get Odin, etc.
The Islands over there is called Centra. You basically go around in the water in the whole place and you'll probably find it. Although I don't remember the exact location of the hip, it is white, and looks thin.
I hope I helped!

When I first played FF8. At the Cerberus boss, I only had 1068 HP. Not enough. It was impossible to beat him. But i started a new game and trained and stocked up on magic before I went to The fire Cavern, and I had close to 2000 HP. A big difference. My advice would be to give it all you got, train more, or start a new game and stock up on strong magic. But, if you already beat him, keep all this in mind for the bosses ahead. :choc:

cerberus is a puppy compared to some later bosses. but that said, its possible with good junctioning to beat the game at lv 7, so go for it.
god damn i hate the start of disc 3, damn hidding seed ship.

Till now I have missed 2 GFs, Alexander and Pandemona, this won't be a problem, will it?
Well, as far as battle goes, no, Alexander isn't particularly necessary to beat the game, but he has some important abilities that will help you out later. For instance, he has the Med Level Up Ability that you need to aquire all the items to summon the GF Doomtrain. Also, he has the Revive ability, which comes in very handy in later battles. Finally, he has High Mag RF which lets you consolodate all those middle-level magic spells into their most powerful forms.
Pandemona, although he has some nice character stat-boosting abilites, doesn't have anything quite as important.

oh and one (alexander) will kick tonberry ass (they're dark elementals and he's holy) other than that Pandemona is just good for the junctions and high level ochu's but not a marlboro that would actually suggest that you need a sumon by then in which case you shouldn't be fighting one.

dont worry anyway. as we said disc 4 has them. just find out when u get there which enemies have them. they do have some good junction abilities, but are r nothing compared to the best gfs.

Not to torment you or anything but I thought Cerberes was really easy. Just use reflect or Carbuncle to reflect the magic. ;)

I'm REALLY bad at using magic & fighting with weapons, it's becuase I used to beat battles using just GFs!
well as you said, it would have been easy if I had used magic or something! :(
Thanks :D

Using GF to much makes your rank go down. So try to use attack, magic and abilities more often.
