After an enlightening discussion with PG concerning the beauty of the steak, I decided to ask you all what your favourite type of steak is. Do you enjoy a nice, thick beef steak covered in onions and gravy, or would you prefer a tender, succulent sirloin steak?

Personally, I love gammon steak.

And yourself?

Moo steak, cooked rare. Any more cooked and I'll get upset. You can imagine how upset I would get if I cooked the darn thing itself.

What's the difference between rump roast and butt steak?

Whats the difference between one steak and the other (I don't know these things because I'm a poorass who couldn't afford to eat steak even if I actually wanted to).

Not like I want to though.

Different parts of the cow have different consistancies. Some taste different. And different kinds are cooked differently.

I really like skirt steak but its super fatty.

Plus, some steaks come from animals that aren't cows!

I think.

Grilled tuna steak is really good.

There's also tube steak, but that's something a bit different...

Medium Rare, when it's a little pink on the inside still.

Beef Tenderloin, somewhere between Rare and Medium Rare. If it was prepared properlly, no sauce should be needed. Really. Going to a nice steak house and asking for steak sauce is like calling the chef's mother a slut.

Suculent sirloin steak in a light, pepper sauce. Not too much sauce, mind you. If they drown the meat in sauce, it's to hide the fact they didn't cook it properly.

New York cut. T-bone. Etc... Any kind of steak is good, really.

Cows are yummy.

How do you people eat medium or well-done (cow) steaks? Whenever I cook my steak a little bit over rare I go crazy and have to eat it with my hands because cutting the steak angers me.

Any kind of steak is great. I guess the best kind would be Ribeye cooked medium. And, as Doomgaze said, no sauce is needed. It only hides the juicyness and perfection of the steak. There is nothing better than a well-cooked steak.
