The most HP I had was all my characters at 9999 HP before the beginning of disc 2. I know this sounds impossible, but if you train alot and refine magic, anything is possible. How did you all do? :)

Before I went to Timber I had 7500 in Quistis. I don't know how I made it! It's possible!! I think it was because of the Curagas and I fought really much with her!

well I've got Squall up to level 100 and his HP was 9999, Zell's was the same and so was Rinoa's. It took me forever, I got to disk three before you go to Esthar to meet Laguna and I was about level 70 with all of them so I decided to level up, and eventually I got to level 100 with every one except Selphie it took me forever, my time at the bottom of the menu screen was red. :D It was fun though! :D

Getting 9999 HP isn't hard at all. Just junction something like Full-Life, and give your character the HP+80% ability. This will give you max HP no matter what level you are. I don't see what the big deal is...

I had 9999 HP before the end of Disc 2. I trained at the Timber Forests. I got this by Junctioning Curaga to everyone's HP.

fight vysages in the peninsula on the gabaldian continent near timber over a 1000 xp for a fight good magic and with 1000 compatability with siren and Shiva over in 5 minutes...easily done had entire party at 100 before disc 1 ended (including Irvine) before but tend to wait until have devour so I can max stats easier (stat bonus abilities + Devour + lots of XP = Maxed)

I let my charaters (damn word) before the last battles all get 9999 HP. They were Squall, Rinoa and Irvine. The rest of the game I just played with HP around 5000 till 7000. (Selphie even had a little bit more then 2000 HP)

9999 HP in the middle of disc two. Just drawed like hell and junctioned to their strength.

I don't normally start getting characters to max HP until somewhere in disc 3. In FF8, it's more important to have a good Strength stat. Squall gets 255 Str pretty early in my games. I usually get the magic required by going to Shumi Village and drawing 100 Ultima for 5000 gil each draw.

its about how early did u do it? of course it easy in the end but not on disc 1-2 at least.
i think at galabia garden on disc 2 rinoa had 9000+, squall had 9999 and the rest very low, like 2500 or sumthin.
i have a friend whos ff8 loving zealot of a friend got squall to lv 100 and hp 9999 nxt to balamb garden before he entered the fire carvern. i dont think that could ever be beaten, nor do i wish 2 try.

Ummm..... lvl 100 before fire cavern  . WHY should someone bother do that?
Just can't see what's soo fun spending AGES getting to lvl 100 that early. That's crazy!

still it can be done- i was level 20 before i left for anywhere, but that was cos i had nothing else to do but count down the days til the release of X. I had 9999 hp, but i'll be damned if i remember the combination of junctions etc

only about 3 hours but it was so mindnumbingly tedious every min was like an hour. and 1 thing i always liked about ff7 is the training was never a chore, so if it became a chore i must really have been doing something sad :D

I think the funiest of my party was Selphie. She started with 597 HP, and still It's on disc 4 and she still has 597 HP. Funny, huh? LOL

Why would you level up to lvl 100 right away (fighting t-rexaurs after you get sleep = lvl up fast)? This eliminates using Cactaur's lvl up abilities to make you invincible :o

true but u can still become a god by getting max stats via refining items from esthar etc. it just takes 1000 hours longer lol. :D

xD
I have a lvl 100 Quistis which still needs junctioning, and has 98xx hp or something. It's odd. Squall and Quistis all have 150+ STR VIT MAG and whatever that last stat is called

personally i think it matters how many game-hours it took you, not what point u are in the game
im at 39:50 right now and squall, quistis, zell, selphie, and irvine are lvl 100 with 255 str, 85 avg mag on each char, and high 100 spr/vit. spd is high 100 on each char. rinoa is lvl 16 and shes the last i need to lvl to 100. all gfs are lvl 100 except eden who is 68 or somin. i have 100 stock of every buyable item and am into my 18th page of items. all my characters have 90% resistance to all elements, and two have perfect immunity to status ailments.
.. yes ..... i run chocobo world =]
edit: actually i dont like to max stats by refining items from esthar shop .. that is too freaking boring. so i keep all my characters at lvl 1x until disc 3 when i get cactuar and use HP/STR/VIT/SPR plus then lvl up at 'island closest to hell' like mad and by the time im 100 ill have about 9700 hp, 23x str, 86 mag, and high 100 spr/vit. then its not hard to max them out via esthar shop but i grow insane after a couple million gils. i wish i had a robot to do my mass-gil for me

lol, has anyone actually got max stats via refining from esthar? if any one has i congratulate on your fortitude and peseverence because you have got to be the personification of patience and free time 2 do it.

meh I use devour as its easier to raise the char stats and then use items from triple triad for the gfs

Getting 9999 hp at disc 1 is boring,I prefer to follow the rules of the powerup guide in GameFaqs.

i tried refinng at esthar but then i got tunnel vision and quit.
The thing is I have 255 on str vit mag spr on everyone but that is because they have Gfs junctioned and str+20% etc stuff equipped.
I want to be able to get all stats at 255 with no help of GFs. Im sure itl take 500+ hours. I am already at 110

devour .. being the easier method to raise hp ? its already hard to run into ruby dragons but to be able to devour him is an almost impossible task for me as i am very impatient. but whatever works for you
i have 255 str and, now, low 200 vit/spr and 9999 hp but i dont use any HP+ or STR+ etc. for most my chars i use spd +40%, auto-haste, eva+30%, and ribbon. that should give you around 175 speed and 50% evade. for the characters that dont have eva+30% i give them spd + 20% instead.
im currently at 45 hours

maybe its my 255 luck stat? ans my 230 speed stat I find them easy enough on hell and devour them at level 5 (tonberries Lvl down skill.)
Peegee

Not max stats, but whatever you can get. I then started mugging cactaurs to get spd +
now THAT I couldn't do.
