View Full Version : Coherency is overrated

I'm having the most enjoyable conversation with Psychotic. It hasn't even been ten minutes and we've changed topics at least twenty times, or how many times we've spoken. Right now I'm talking about me being Jesus because I lick stamps that turns into cookies.

Which brings me to my topic: what's so good about a coherent conversation? I find that I have to strike up a conversation with people using something 'interesting' or 'engaging' or they will just mutter words and not respond. It's pleasant every so often, but since I don't have a spam forum, it gets a little problematic when I start to realise I haven't talked about space monkeys doing the Macarena.

Do you like to engage in nonsense? What do you think about word salads (I once was walking down a street towards some mildew left after a party at the dumpster. The cookies smelled like the fountains spewing out lots of apple juice)? Isn't it the best?

Skdsfotik (4:09:06 PM): Allah got in a fight with Vishnu the other day.
Ssdfkykofdtik (4:09:14 PM): The Buddha then got involved and massacared them both.
Skosdfasdtykik (4:09:18 PM): Then it rained Chileans.
PureGhettoPika (4:09:23 PM): sweet
PureGhettoPika (4:09:31 PM): I like dancing in the rain of Chileans
PureGhettoPika (4:09:47 PM): One time I slipped and accidentally fathered a legion of doomtrains
Skyddddkotik (4:09:47 PM): Yeah, but the Chilean Rain Union is going on strike over working hours, I hear.
PureGhettoPika (4:09:52 PM): THEY SUCK
Skyasdfakik (4:10:09 PM): Totally.
Sasdfkykk (4:10:20 PM): We'll have to call in reserve Bolivians at this rate.
PureGhettoPika (4:10:30 PM): they're cheap labour but lazy
PureGhettoPika (4:10:38 PM): do you have stun sticks? :D
Candycane (4:10:51 PM): I have a boomerang named Marco Polo
Your Mom (4:10:59 PM): But not stun sticks.
PureGhettoPika (4:11:38 PM): I licked a stamp and it turned into a cookie
PureGhettoPika (4:11:42 PM): I think I'm Jesus
Hi I'm fat (4:11:55 PM): I cookied a lick and it stamped into a turn.
LIck my toes (4:12:04 PM): I think I'm Jebus.
PureGhettoPika (4:12:20 PM): My Jesus is better than yours
PureGhettoPika (4:12:25 PM): sick him Jesus!

It is the best. It's even better than looking at green pineapples that have just jumped over the moon and are living in the telephone next door.

That reminds me of the time Dave Thomas came and made me a hambuger. Then we were all happy until the French invaded Portugal and William the Conqueror gave me a free bionic arm. The I flew over to Australia where they blasted the emperor of Japan into space to make waffles for everyone.

I always keep the conversation brewing by bringing up nonsense, otherwise they just start saying 'lol' and then not replying, and I might miss out on something important that may be brung up later from the nonsense. It happens. I got invited to a party that way by first talking about monkeys, then hunger, then icecream. Then icecream and beer and monkeys. It was awesome.

I'll go even further and say what's so good about conversation in general?

As for your question, ghetto, coherency prevents confusion which prevents assumptions which prevents trouble. Random is terribly overrated. It's good in short bursts, but that's it.

It's all because you adults have your vaunted "maturity" thing, isn't it?

Pfft. Conversation is so stereotypical and mundane these days.

A good dose of spontaneous randomness is what everybody needs to brighten up their repetitive and boring exchanges of thought. On a related note: I enjoy talking to drunk people (when I'm completely sober) - it's hellishly good fun.

If you ever saw the BAoTW MSN Chatlogs you'd have a heart attack, we have that 'kind' of conversation, usually for about 2-3 hours at a time, its insane.

Me, I'm crap at conversation though...

Oh and Psy, when I speak to you tonight I'll send you a copy of that Bang, Bang song as an MP3 :D

Random nonsense conversations are always fun, especially with Psy. xD

Anything to do with mooses or walruses make the best conversations. :)

I think chickens are the best to talk about, actually.

Every once in a while, I'll say something random about a chicken or something, but I don't make whole conversations about them. I used to with my sister, but if usually ended up with us dancing around making ape noises.

yes, nonsence conversations are better than normal ones by far-like the conversation i keep having with my friend luke about how leprosy could kick tb's ass anyday :) but what is even funnyer is when u give a nonsence answer to a perfectly snesible question :)

"Do you have the time?"

"No, I already have a watch"
"I don't speak english"

"Can I borrow 5$?"
"No thanks"

I have a brilliance at random conversation...when people are talking with me I have a habit to not gently change a topic in a direction then perform a change in subject I simply go head first andchange the topic completely. A friend of mine said 'it's like a path (the conversation is) and I'm a mage with a teleportation spell and get trigger happy with it taking the conversation not only up and down the path but completely off the path in a random direction.' Hmm red mages...Nuklear power!

Peegee
05-10-2004, 05:03 PM
Can you give us (me) an example? I'm thinking right now that you're in a conversation, then suddenly:

them: yeah, but if you use ketchup, it makes a great addition to sauce
you: then I threw a candy at the old man. haha
them: wha?
you: yeah, they were telling me off about being young so I showed them!
them: ....

xD

Iceglow
05-10-2004, 05:33 PM
yeah and then Jesus said "thou art a dispicable boy and should throw the candy at babies not old men" so I said "really doesnt that girl just have the most awesome breasts?" and jesus was like "uh huh?" And then I burst out laughing "sinner!" is all that needed be said.

In other words yeah PG you got me in one I will change the topic cause I'll be listening then a random thought comes into my head and I say a thought aloud kinda.

Being random is lazy. Anyone can just spurt out random shit that immature kids will find funny. Give me nifty jokes that have some relivence to a conversation anyday.

Iceglow
05-10-2004, 07:05 PM
hmm but with me it's not even intentional I do it without realising most of the time I can sit there talking about someones boring day at work with them and then I can come out with an "Oh yeah the other day I was..." kind of line unintentionally an ex girlfriend once cottoned on that if I manage to do such then I cant be truly listening...my mind goes for a wander when I get bogged down in conversation about boring things in life like work

Baloki
05-10-2004, 07:18 PM
Relivance?

a yes but in order to remedy this situation all you have to is reverse that polarity of the forward deflector array and cupple it in with the back up power suply leading the warp engines therefore fireing a strong anti-polaron burst into the centre of the singularity :) *confident nod*
