According to EoFFFF doomy is 21 today. There was a birthday thread for him posted at ~5:40-6:00pm EST in FFL yesterday.

Doomy is 21, legal, and lives in Wisconsin. How unfortunate.

Believe it or not, Arthurian Legends existed before Monty Python. The grail legends are just the ones that stick in my mind the most.

Did you mean <a href="http://dictionary.reference.com/search?r=2&q=elitist">elitist?</a>
If so, it is still not an action that can be done to other people "to elitist me"

Baloki

So I missed an 'i'

Doomgaze
05-20-2004, 08:26 PM
It's spelled ELITIST, you ignorant peons.

EDIT: Oh, too slow. But Kane's still right, it's not a verb.

Aye! I shall HONOUR Doomgaze's birthday by declaring a HOLIDAY, free from MATHS, where everyone gets to SAVOUR making MANOEUVRES to take drinks from ALUMINIUM tins.

Peegee
05-21-2004, 04:41 AM
how do americans spell holiday?

ALUMINIUM!

Peegee
05-21-2004, 04:59 PM
Americans seriously don't use the word 'Holiday'? What is wrong with them?

:D

The Captain
05-21-2004, 07:21 PM
Here in America, we use it to describe hotels, such as the Holiday Inn.

Problem is, we've invented so many "fake" Holidays that the word has lost its true, pure, meaning.

Take care all.

Peegee
05-21-2004, 07:31 PM
Holiday means vacation, more or less. Holiday Inn is synonymous with 'a place you stay during your vacation'.

I don't think too many vacations/holidays/breaks is a bad thing.

Doomgaze
05-21-2004, 08:25 PM
Holiday Inn is a BRAND NAME.

Holiday - The specific day... You know, "Holy Day." Except most of them are secular now, you know.

Vacation - When you pack up and leave for awhile. We don't call, say, heading to the mountains for a week "going on holiday." Really, Memorial Day might not be a Holy Day, but heading out to lounge on the beach for a week has even less of a claim to it.
