Are there any keen gardener types on EOFF. I have just started trying to grow some plants in my shed and it's not going very well. I'm supposed to get a gro-lux light or something. And what's the difference between all the flaming fertilisers? Isn't it just dirt?

What the jibble is a gro-lux light and whats it for?

Any help anyone can give me on growing things would be much appreciated.

I have few plants. I don't know any other stuff; mould and water is enough for me.

What kind of plants is it that you have to grow in a shed? If they're the kind I think they are, I'll keep my gardening knowledge to myself.

Well all my plants. My garden is a 12 by 10 foot concrete slab. Damn student housing.

Are these pot plants? *eyes narrowing* Sounds aweful suspicious. I'm keeping my mouth shut about tips then.

You could just buy some fish bone feed for plants. Cheap stuff and very healthy. Mix it in your water before you pour it in. Or get fish oil for plants, smelly but healthy. Sunlight helps.

Well yeah they are pot plants, cause they're grown in pots. I suppose it does sound suspicious. Well I'm not growing marijuana, there we go everyone can stop beating round the bush now. I am trying to grow other herbs, but not that one, its illegal or something.

So take a big dump on your plants.

Its good for them.

You can't do that -- too much fertilizer is bad

You can evenly distibute the dump among your plants, a lil for each.

The only thing that grows around here is the grass I keep having to cut.

Well he could have been growing grass and I didn't want to help with that. :)

Gro-lux is a florescent type light that simulates daylight and this helps the plants grow. If the plants are in a shed, then I guess they will need artificial light. If they were in a greenhouse, they wouldn't. Regular feeding with something like 20-20-20 is always good along with a good soil. Just go to any nursery and they should be able to help you out with what you need.
