whats the sickest movie you have ever seen? Which equals to: Which movie do you recommend everyone to see :D
I think you all should see: Ichi the killer, Battle Royale, and Romper Stomper.
Best movies on earth, esspecially the first 2. Romper Stomper is a bit racistic. but nice to watch when you feel like battles with chains and baseballbats :p

The sickest movie I've ever seen would have to be "The Mummy", and only because of the first few scenes.

You don't have to have blood and guts to be sick.

Natural Born Killers

ow, i almost forgot, Killers is a good one too, about two psychotic killers who are going to take a family hostage. It turns ouit to be a family from hell with a complete dungeon in the basement filled with slaves etc.
really hilarious. Still Ichi the killer is the best

Because the lounge is where we talk about movies, sports and such. And as this thread is about sick movies it goes in the lounge.

I didn't find Battle Royale that sick, just fun.

One sick Japanese movie is Audition. I believe it's out in the U.S. on DVD. Some parts even I had to close my eyes. :x_x:

It's not like it's racist propaganda.
It just shows racism.

If by sick you mean, "must see", I pick Battle Royale.

Sick As In Amazing:

- Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon, I remeber the first time I saw it, this film blew my mind.

- Princess Mononoke, quite possibly the most beautiful film I've ever seen.

- LA Confidential, quite possibly the most underrated film ever, since it came out along with Titanic.

- City of God, Goodfellas in Brazil, such a powerful film.

- The Godfather, still the Gold standard.

- Pulp Fiction, a movie about loving movies.

Sick As In Disturbing:

- Requim For A Dream, this film really gave me chills at some moments.

- Se7en, Dark, twisted, great atmosphere.

- Kazaam, Shaq acting, VERY disturbing.

- The Rules Of Attraction, WHAT a depressing movie!

- The Manchurian Candidate, still the best political thriller ever made, there's no need for the soon to be released remake.

- Sleepers, not a very pleasant film.

Take care all.

My main question is sick like in: sick story. Battle royale for example: 1 class supposed to kill eachothers within 3 days
ichi: a masochist is searching for a cry baby which turns into a psycho killer after getting very tensed.
pulp fiction qualifies, too
braindead is, in my opinion, just a lame-ass horror movie with some nice costumes.

Ichi the Killer is sick and twisted... and I can't believe anyone likes it. The plot it pure garbage, and it's just an excuse to get some girl beat up or someone's nipplies sliced off. The movie super sucks... but it is pretty sick.

Battle Royale isn't 'sick' like it grossed me out, but the plot is pretty disturbing and touches on the aspects of human nature like friendship and trust, which makes it a pretty damn good movie. Battle Royale 2, on the other hand, totally sucks (perhaps more than Ichi the Killer...).

Other than what you've asked for, since I wouldn't know "sick" movies in that way, I'd have to say that I have a small list.

Silence of the Lambs
Hannibal
Red Dragon
Psycho
Birds

since when does BR 2 excist, then? ive got to see that for myself. I really liked the teacher in part 1. How he said all the bad things with a happy voice.
did you know by the way, that Ichi the Killer was a comic at first. And ichi means one (1). Why they make a movie of such a bad story, i dont know. but i liked it :D

Cannibal Holocaust, Cannibal Ferox, Last house on the left, House of 1,000 Corpses and Gummo are some examples.

Koroshiya Ichi was a delectable romp. Dead or Alive: Hanzaisha was hilarious. Miike is LOL. If you think special effects is sick then you're too easily hypnotised by movies. Yes, movies hypnotise you.

'sick' movies would most likely be those 'banned in America' things, imho. I've never watched them per se, but the idea of watching a parachuter fall into an alligator/crocodile swamp doesn't sound very 'enjoyable'.

I really didn't think the gore in Battle Royale was excessive to the point of disgusting me. I didn't get to watch it all the way through, but I saw a good bit of it.

Silence of the Lambs was pretty sick, even though it's one of the most brilliant movies ever.

Finally someone else who has seen Ichi The Killer. The sickness and violence in that movie was more funny than creepy, though. But it won the award of sickest movie all the time...go figure. It's a masterpiece.

And what the hell? Natural Born Killers wasn't sick at all. :smash:

"Audition" has probably given me most creepy and disgusting vibes.

I aint big on watchin sick films. To prove this, the sickest film I have seen would be.....um.....hmm.....(several minutes of thought and carful consideration.)
Aaha................no.
Wait!...............no.
What about........no.

I have thought of these few,
Silence of the lambs,
No that's it, darn. :(

(to the watchers of Father Ted, the above lines should be familiar. After typing I was instantly reminded of a certain episode wher Ted and Dougle desperately try to think of an idea (can't quite remember what the episode was about???), suddenly it appears Jack has the answer....wait, no, he doesn't. Or does he,....no, yet again. Brilliant stuff. Dermot Morgan was a true genious.

I dunno the name of the movie, but there were like 4 friends and they all had some kind of life insurance thing and one of them was a killer and who ever was last living would take all of the life insurance money or something. It was freaking disturbing.

I'm still unsure of what you mean by "sick," but......

Sick-bad

Austin Powers: The Spy Who Shagged Me.....only because of the scene where Austin drinks the "nutty coffee." I have never been so close to vomiting at a movie in my life. (The popcorn I had just eaten probably didn't help either)

Strangeland.....this was the single most disturbing movie I have ever seen in my life. I have no idea why I finished watching it, and I had nightmares about it for a few weeks after I saw it. After a year and a half, it still gives me chills thinking about it. *gets chills*

Se7en, The Cell, and anything involving Hannibal.....just disturbing.

Sick-good

The Lord of the Rings movies, Harry Potter movies.....I loved the books, and I love the movies.

T2: Judgement Day.....explosions, explosions, explosions, explosions...what more could you want?

The Sweetest Thing (unrated version).....your **** is too big to fit in here, too big to fit in here, too big to fit in here...ROFL, the rest of the movie is ok, but that scene makes it awesome.

The Chronicles of Riddick.....OMG, a 110 minute orgasm, the movie is just awesome. I didn't think it would be all that good, I'm not a big fan of sci-fi, but it is so good. I recommend it to everyone.

no, just SFX for me.

Faces of Death don't really count as movies since they aren't... but there is a series of SFX gross out movies... I forgot what they are called, but some of the films in the series are Flowers of Flesh and Blood and Mermaid in a Bubble. Search em' on Google and you'll see what I mean. The movies basically try to create really sick, lifelife violence and other nasty stuff...

BR2 has been out for quite a while... but I dont not recommend watching it. I think it completely turns the story of the characters upsidedown and doesn't even come close to the drama that the first one had from kids killing each other, having trouble trusting their own friends, etc. The second movie doesn't have any of that stuff going on. It's basically just kids dying... which is really dumb and purely for shock factor, which basically falls flat on it's face without any meaning to back it up. The plot also sucks hardcore as do the new characters. The new 'teacher' figure totally blows.

Peegee
06-12-2004, 12:34 PM
I'd search them up except I don't purposely go looking for 'real' gore, even if it's not real (in this case).

I was talking about real videos of things happening, like that bizarre video clip involving a train, which I haven't seen but was given a rather explicit description.

And yes, I would imagine those who actively seek such images would probably have a....unique view of the world, but to say they need council might to too much.

But whatever. I'll stick to sappy special effects stuff for now.

Some of you dont understand what i mean with "sick".
well, i dont either.
at least its not the same as "gore" or "nice" or "good SFX". Its a bit like having respect for the extreme &^%*ed up mind of the writer of the story. i think. hard to explain. well, yesterday i saw another good movie on MTV (its movie month): Kids. nice movie where everyone is using alcohol and drugs and everyone's either wasted or making love. Another freakin movie is: spur (i'm pretty sure you write it like this). Its all about a boy and how hes getting/using speed. a beautiful quote from the movie: (a guy is arrested in a porn shop) "haha, im getting fokt in a porn shop".
i was laughing my ass of (lmao, lol) for like half an hour. really, yuou should see Spur. extremely original movie.

I remember seeing Saving Private Ryan film in theaters when it first came out with my grandfather. That film, was the only one I've ever been to where the entire audience was overcome with emotions. My grandfather cried for the first time in my presence ever at the end of that movie. I'll never forget that night. Sometimes, when the violence is so real, and so true, it's beyond powerful, it reaches down to the very depths of someone. It recalls memories of their time on that very same Beach during D-Day, seeing exactly what the movie depicts. How this film ever lost to Shakespeare In Love (which I did enjoy also) for Best Picture, I will never know.

Take care all.

Different people have different morals. The movie 'Requiem for a Dream' is pretty nasty, especially when what's-his-face's arm was all infested. Though I still enjoyed it. Koroshiya Ichi is thoroughly amoral, and I really really enjoyed it, going so far as to audibly say 'wow' by the time all the character development had finally been revealed.

'Sick' movies, imho are just movies that discomfort me because of the senseless and in-your-face visuals. I'm not afraid of concepts, sounds, music, or whatever, but what you can see is usually what scares you :D

Peegee
06-13-2004, 12:27 AM
8mm showed how not showing something is better than showing something. Same with some scenes of fight club, but 8mm had you imagining what was happening in the film instead of showing it.

Though to me that sort of thing lessens the shock value. I found 8mm to be pretty silly. "He did it because he could." -- What a cop-out.
