As soon as possible. It saved a couple of people's lives, in my case.

My driver's liscence? I'd say about five years ago.

EDIT: I'm an asshole and misinterpreted the question. Felicitations.

I got mine about 2 1/2 weeks ago on my sixteenth birthday. Here in the wonderful state of Texas, it takes about five minutes to get it. Quite simple.

Get it whenever you want to. I got mine about a week after my sixteenth birthday.

What the fornicate? Where do you live? Driver's licence age where I live is 17-18. I passed my driver's test a month ago, so when I go for driving lessons, this summer, I'm going to get my permit.

There's more traffic in New Jersey, thus, they have to take better precautions when allowing people to drive. [/randomcompletelyuselessanswer]

I plan to be getting mine as soon as possible after my sixteenth birthday. It's best to get it as soon as you're able to and feel confident enough to take the test.

If that was the case wouldn't you have to be like 30 to get you liscense in New York? Besides, I've been to Texas, and theres plenty of traffic there (they arn't far behind Los Angeles really).

Anyway, I got my permit when I was 16 and didn't get my liscense till 2 days after my 17th birthday...cause my parents are assholes. I'm 19 now (and still haven't had my first car -__-).

Being able to drive isn't the beginning of any new life. i could have gotten mine two and a half years ago, but i've yet to bother and am still breathing quite nicely.

I could've got mine 2 or so years ago when I was 15, but I've been putting it off until a few days ago when I finally sat the first test for the learners, and in 6 months I can drive on my own. The fact is, though, I've just never been into driving all that much as everyone else seems to be and I only got my licence because everyone was bugging me to do it.

I'm currently in drivers ttraining and should have my G2 by the end of the summer.

It takes aboot 15 minutes to get your G1 here, and then once you have driverstraining, one could go for their G2 test. And then finally, after a few years, one can go get their G liscence.

I'll be attempting to get one next Tuesday. ;_;

In answer to your question - ASAP. :)

It takes so long to actually get your full license (at least in Canada), I would think that everyone would start as soon as possible.

Good luck, Jayren. :)

I'll probably get my permit this summer, and have my license...in a year? Or six months. I forget.

I got my license when I turned eighteen. It wasn't a big deal for me.

When you can drive would probably be a fairly good time to get a license.

Just don't drive in Russia (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TKJDPGOdsHg).

It is too bad that all of you are two years late. :(
