too much screenshots

i never play the VIII game before, but it has 4 or 5 discs. all i saw is movies.....yup tons of movie screenshots, it kinda annoying, ( ok! so i kinda like them) but not one battle or game screenshot.

the graphics and FMVs are really great on the PS1, it just that they need more battle screenshots

But when you have 31 FMVs on the first disc, 34 on the second, 31 on on the third, and only 7 on the last, they can be a bit excessive. I'm not complaining because it was one of my favorites, but 103 FMV's is a bit excessive.

There's nothing wrong with FMV. I remember playing FF8 and looking at screenshots. Never once did I think there was too much of one kind- it just made me want to play it all the more!

I'm not really complaining much either. But this I am complaining about, since I bought it on day 1, and there were a lot of bugs in FFVIII that needed to be worked out, my game froze a lot during some FMV's. It still does actually

i was a total jerk to bring this topic, but maybe one of the reasons is how the gameplay go. ;/ i never saw a battleshot so i don,t know how the whole gameplay goes. and that when i got mad inside

What are these screenshots people are referring to? If I want to look at screenshots, I go ahead and do that, I'm not forced to look at them...? Since they're freely available on the Internet and all...?

I'm not sure I follow this topic - is the gripe that when promoting and advertizing FF8, too many released images are that of FMVs instead of in-game images, so that the buyer doesn't really see what they're getting? Is that it? LOL.

Well, I don't see the problem really. There are TONS of in-game screenshots online, and there were many before the game was even released. For instance at

Just do a Google search and you'll find plenty.

I thought the topic was refering to the screenshots of almost every ff on the main site (www.eyesonff.com) Most of the games that have screenshots only have screenshots from FMVs. So where is all the good stuff? The screenshots in Dr.Unnes walkthrough and in the FFXII section are the kind we want.

More battles, walking & talking would be nice.

Hah, nice dude. I'm impressed by that :p . But the main reason there weren't as many in game screenshots is probably due to the fact that the models were too fuzzy at times. I mean from VII to VIII the texture of characters went a bit downhill, but the detail and realism jumped from a 3 to a 9 on a scale of 1-10.
