ffVIII boss tournment

ffVI and ffIV are under my belt and now its time to pick a 3-d one...ffVIII it is.

i,m going to do a seperate tournment for all the numbered ff games which will go all the way to the last six, then these best six(except ff1 which will only have 4 finalists) from each ff will do battle in the finals with the other ff games top six ! so please post (or pm me) who u want to 2 go through in each of the bouts! o (i hope ppl reply). u can judge the vote on ANYTHING u like, be it hardness, coolness, character design, personality etc its YOUR choice my friends :D

now there are 41 bossess i,ve located in ffVIII. 7 of them, the seeds, recognised by a * and a number, have automaticaly progressed to the 2nd round since i,m 7 short of 48 which is ideal. they are...

Propagator! Reason: Figth: They have their revive system.

Gerogero! Reason: Coolness: This zombie creature is by far the scariest boss in FFVIII. (And those reflect Lizards are easier.)

Catoblepas! Reason: Tradition: He is a traditional boss/monster while Sacred and Minotaur break the tradition of having Titan as Earth Summon.

Adel! Reason: Hardness: While I can beat Adel without problem rigth now, she was a real problem on my first play.

Red Giant! Reason: Figth: Tri-point have no demi-based attacks. Coolness: Red Giant comment your usless attacks+ he looks cool.

Jumbo Cacutar! Reason: Powerfullness: 10000 needles! Funnyness: There is no funnier looking boss. :)

Edea! Reason: Disslikeness: I disslike Sacred and Minotaur. (I only like their Defend ability)

Sorcerress through time! Reason: Funnyness: They are not funny looking but funny to figth.

Master Tonberry! Reason: Funnyness: He has the funniest looking attack in the whole game.
(note: his name is Tonberry king.)

BGH251F2! Reason: No real reason but the soliders are so damn easy.

Wedge! Reason: Funnyness: Bigs and Wedge is funny!!!!!!

Oiiboyle! Reason: Because I say so!

Biggs! Reason: Funnyness: Bigs and Wedge is funny!!!!!! Figth: Odin can't attack if the timer doesn't reach 0.

Ifrit! Reason: Hateness: I hate Norg. Coolness: Ifrit is cooler!

Mobile type 8! Reason: Funnyness: This figth is funny. Powerfullness: It has that attack that reduce the partys hp to 1 while Gargantua didn't have any really powerfull attack.

Krysta! Reason: Powerfullness: He has a powerfull counter + casts Ultima in the end. Hardness: Krystas Counter makes him much harder than Sphinxaur.

Tiamat! Reason: Coolness: He's Bahamuts twisted brother! :cool: :cool: :cool:

[Rusty]

Propagator: I havent got a reason for this one.

Iguions: One of my favourite monsters in the game, just look at them in the FMV.

Scared: Half of the brothers, I reckon there cute.

Adel: Even though cerberus has some powerful magical attacks, Adel's are much more powerful.

Red Giant: Those three headed things are just a take off from cerberus.

Jumbo Cacutar: He does about 2000 to 4000 damage in one hit.

Edea: Edea is stronger in magical attacks, where as minotaur is not and she'd have the upper hand anyway.

Sorcerress through time V X-ATM092: neither.

Fujin: I reckon she could out last the fight and she gives out some good attacks!

Elite Soldier + robots V BGH251F2. ???

Elvoret: Wedge never wins any fight :)

Raijin: Those other things are pretty easy to beat.

Odin: Biggs never winds any fight :)

Ifrit: I dont like norg.

Mobile type 8 V Gargantua not sure
Krysta: only because I havent fought the other thing yet, so I'm not sure.

Tiamat: Nuff said.

Propagator: I don't remember this guy but no one could be much easier than Granaldo

Iguinos: These guys were easy but dang they looked cool.

Catoblepas: Sacred was pitiful so I'm going with Catoblepas

Cerberus: I hate Adel with a fiery burning passion! I still haven't beaten her! While there is no doubt in my mind that she would win I really want to see her lose so my vote goes to Cerberus.

Tri-point: Don't remember either of them but Tri-Point sounds cooler

Jumbo Cacutar: I just feel like voting for him

Edea: Minotaur was stronger than Sacred but still pathetic. Plus Edea was pretty tough


X-ATM092: I don't remember Sorcerous through time

Fujin: Fujin is the only one in this match up that I've faced so she wins.


BGH251F2: The soilders are pushovers.

Wedge: I think Wedge could beat Elevort

Raijin: I don't remember Oilboyle but even if I did I would probably still vote for Raijin

Odin: I'm going to say Odin because he's just so much cooler than Biggs

Ifrit: Ifrit was pretty much the first boss and yet he was still so much harder than Norg. Plus I hate Norg.

Mobile type 8: I don't think I remember Gargantua ao Mobile type 8 wins.

Krysta: It has a cooler name

Tiamat: Tiamats cool plus I don't remember the other thing.

Plus the light pillars, they just couldn't stop, the reason i picked this instead of Omega weapon, well because i beat omega on my second try, maybe i just got lucky... My other choice would be Master Tombery, i was bashing it with all i had, and it kept coming, and it scared the crap outa me! And when it got to me it killed everything :cry:

Ultima and Omega and all the others will figth in the 2nd round, this is the first round. But I'm glad you want to vote for Ultima Weapon :) :) :) He's the coolest AND hardest boss in FFVIII. Remember to vote for him in the remaning rounds.

SpiritWolf, the reason you don't remember some of the bosses may be because you haven't faced them yet. You said you haven't defeated Adel yet, rigth?

well the results are in...

Propagator beats on granraldo 6-0 and he did,nt even have 2 try.

the Iguions decimate the undead creep 4-2 despite defending badly (kinda like englands victory over crotia last night)

Catoblepas and one half of the brothers duo draw 3-3. they lock horns in sudden death...and against the odds Sacred prevails.

the most powerful sorcerress to ever live (before ultimecia devoured time of course) Adel whoops the fiesty gf 4-2 and vows to reclaim her dominion over ultimecia.

tri point shot down with his omnirush attack but red giants rock hard head gave him a 4-2 victory.

jumbo cacutar didnt need to squash Abaddon 5-1, he just chucked a phoenix down on him.

and the possessed enchantress smacks minotaur from wall to wall and wins 6-0, wondering why she was not seeded...

the Galbadia technology prevails over magic 4 once, the spider robot winning 3-2.

Fujin conguers the powerful tonberry king(thanks ultima :) ) 4-2 and hopes to stand up 4 cute automoton women everywhere.

the annoying machine from the missle base goes through 3-1 without trying (kinda like france win over switerland last night)

Wedge gives the fight of his little life and holds the mighty Elvoret beast 3-3...but its huge claws keep raining down and wedge ultimately bleeds all over dollet tower...

Raijins special demolishs the ugly oilboyles 5-1 and we ask ourselves how they ever got 2 be bossess.

Odin gives Biggs so much time but he just cant beat Odin. a 5-1 victory, though full credit 4 biggs dodgeing the first 4 zantetsukens...

Ifrit is another gf to go through, clattering the arrogant shumi 5-1. it seems the first bossess all do well in these tournments.

what could gargantua do against medigo flame? mobile type 8 wins 4-1.

in the battle of the ultimecia guardians, Krysta reveals why hes the hardest to find and sphinxaur is the easiest. a 6-0 thrashing.

whos cooler? a yellow robot? or Bahamats twisted fire breathing brother?(ultima shadow lol) Tiamat wins 6-0.

not so many replys this time, i,m beginning to bore everyone ( :( ) anyway, the results r as follows.

it took 5 light pillars, red giant was stubborn, but Ultima weapon(*1) mushed him into particles 5-0.

and the number 2 seed Omega Weapon(*2) fell over and squashed the igions 4-0.

no Heriocs 4 sacred this time. Greiver(*3) was shocked he only won 4-0.

another clean sheet 4 a top seed, Bahamat swooping to a 4-0 victory over the galbadia machine. Can Bahamat join his ffIV counter part in the finals?

and the strange talking witch Ultimecia (*7) sweeps past the giant raijin 3-1. u can just see Raijins crying with Fujin waiting to scold him.


Not so smooth sailing 4 Ultimecia junctioned to greiver(*5) but still an easy win over Ifrit 3-1. will an incarnation of Ifrit ever make the finals?

the first Shock of the second round as unseeded Adel whoops Seifer(*6) with ease 3-1. it seems demon slice is just bluff and bluster.

the frst tie break of the second round as Propagator and Elvoret draw 2-2...and the Propagator nicks it.

Despite Mobile type 8,s immense power, elegance and beauty almost always win. 4-0 win 4 Edea.

and the spider robot who achieved almost god like status with sym ff8 fans crashs out 2 yet another lovely lady, fujin winning 4-0 this time.

now this was one titantic battle, Tiamat and Jumbo Cacutar drawing 2-2. dark flare after 10000 neddles were chucked at each other and the Cacutar started to run like mad...but with Tiamat in hot pursuit he forgot that upon relocating him his hp is fully restored the cheeky *******!. Jumbo Cacutar wins sudden death.

Odin has a reputation, but Krysta doesnt care about such things. his mesmerising powers stormed to a 3-1 victory as his body glinted in the ever illumanating moonlight.

and now the third round. note these 6 winners will make the finals...

Reason: Coolness: He is the coolest looking boss there ever was. Hardness: In FF8 there's no really hard boss but he is by far the hardest. Powerfullness: Ligth pillar is a very dangerous attack. Funnyness: It's a funny battle. Tradition: Ultima Weapon has became the most traditional boss. Figth: Ultima Weapon kicks the crap out of that pityfull Cactuar. Asskickingness:ULTIMA WEAPON JUST RULES! Ultimateness: Just for the sake of it. :D

Omega Weapon(*2)! Reason: Coolness: second coolest looking boss ever. Powerfullness: Megido flame is an asskicking attack (but predicable) + Omega is the boss with the most hp.

Greiver(*3)! Reason: Powerfulness: Shockwawe Pulsar. Coolness: He just looks cooler.

Bahamat (*4)! Reason: Coolness: He looks cool in every FF+ HE IS THE DRAGON KING (and that's just cool). Powerfullness: The summon is powerfull.

Ultimecia Junctioned to Greiver(*5)! Reason: No reason, I just fliped a coin and they won.

Ultimecia(*7)! Reason: Coolness: She looks pretty cool. Funnyness: This battle is just my fav final boss battle and I really enjoyed it on my first play.

i would like 2 use a poll systerm but 4 it to suit my style of tournment it would take alot longer to do. plus only like mods and admins can mod polls like in the npc tournment so it would end up with a silly number of threads.

The migthy vegetable finally crumbles to the might of Ultima Weapon(*1). definitly a favourate to win it espically with ultimashadows powers at its side :D

Omega Weapon(*2) has the advantage of not being human so no seductive spells will work from Edea. a 3-0 victory.

a bit closer here but Adel,s good run finally ends at the hands of Greiver(*3) in a close 2-1 bout.

Propagator was confident coming in. fool him. revive a million times if u want, Bahamat(*4) will still thrash u 3-0 with a wonderful Mega Flare. he joins his fellow ffIV bahamat in the finals.

in a close run thing, Fujin was the surprise package winning 2-1 over the seed and can be confident against any man in the finals as long as he doesnt have gorgeous long hair... :D

another 2-1 victory, this time Krysta striking a fatal blow to its own mistress in a 2-1 victory.
