yeah, the Ragnarok.

Ouch!

The Ragnarok wouldn't exactly fall under the classic airship label. I barely consider the Highwind an airship. The Ragnarok just doesn't have the classic blimp/propellor thing going for it.

What would it be then? A plane?

I suppose if it is a ship, and is in the air... that makes it an airship.

True, but it seems far too technologically advanced to be grouped with the most of the airships of the games past.

what about the ffIV airship that can fly to the moon, would,nt that be too advanced to be an airship?.

i,d just say anything that allows u 2 visit the worlds locations is the same. no need 4 highly defined airship categories.

The Ragnarok would be the closest thing to an airship. In fact, it's better than a simple airship. Not only does it travel through space, but it also comes equipped with machine guns and cool looking retractable arms. Also the music is funky.

it looks cool, but i have always thought it to be peruliar that a wooden boat with propellers could be so much faster than a spaceship with jets. 'cos damn that ragnarok is SLOW

Either the Ragnarok's so slow or the worlds so much larger :D

Suppose it depends on your definition of an Airship :)

The ones from X and X-2 weren't really traditional either, but none of them are traditional, medieval-style FFs.

Ragnarok was the coolest of all FF airships, though :D They didn't call it RagnaROK for nothing :)

I think Balamb Garden is more close to the definition of airship, considering the whole propeller/floats on water thing. However, there is the fact that it can't fly very high.

The Ragnorok was a rockin' airship. That thing looked like a freakin' dragon, had crazy arms, machine guns, and could go into space. Plus the music was crazy cool too. The only thing that bothered me was there wasn't much to do inside the ship... there needed to be a chocobo stable!

No but it had a flying school.

No but it had a flying school.
Not a very productive one though. Only one classroom. Everyone must have a crapload of free periods. (Although there's not much to learn, "here's a sword, pointy bit goes in bad guy")
