This may seem like a stupid and inadequate question to ask, but it certainly is relative as to how the game has made an impression on you, the music you hear, the characters you meet and of course the places you go ! so which place made the biggest impression on you the first time through?

Mt. Corel did it for me --
I remember the first time I walked by the railroads, thinking how great and realistic this game was, the sight of mountains, the smell of honeysuckle and the wonderful music playing softly in the background...It certainly had me hooked...

Usually, the introduction will hook me and intrigue me. When the opening FMV zoomed out to show all of Midgar. With the slow, dank, dilipadated music playing the background, it really did it for me.

Gongaga.(( no,not because im obsessed with Zack, either. This is truth)). The whole feel of that place screamed depression and loss and sadness to me. I cant remember the music(to much of the game, actually) but i have a feeling it was slow and sad. The greenery being so dark also made me feel suffocated for some reson.

Definitely the City of the Ancients. I know it's quite late in the game, as far as first visits to a location go, but the whole thing was so beautiful. The music was extremely well done "You Can Hear The Cry Of The Planet" is one of my favourite Final Fantasy pieces of music, and one of the best from FFVII, without a shadow of a doubt.

The Train Graveyard and Nibelheim as well, I suppose. "Anxious Hearts" is another one of my favourite pieces of music. Anxious Hearts is played in more than one location (it's also played in Gongaga for example).

City of the Ancients gave off an eerie, creepy feel but had the most impact. I mostly liked the impact Kalm had on me, since it was all warm and cosy etc :)

Finally getting out of Midgar for the first time, and seeing that the world is much more than a dark city. That's what got me.

The intro definitely hooked me. And then the rest of the game just reeled me in. All the Disc I Midgar events were just amazingly written and directed. And then you leave Midgar, and the world map becomes brighter, and I was like, damn. This game is something.

Cosmo Canyon. Seriously, doesn't the music remind you of a tribal society? *whistles Cosmo Canyon theme*

I did like Nibelheim alot too. I think it was the mansion. It all had this really desturbing, frightening, feeling to it.

The Temple of the Ancients was quite an experience. The music was great and unique and so was the level.
