View Full Version : Most Common Typos

Now, we've all been typing on the computer for a while now, and I'd warrant we all make mistakes every once in a while with what we type. What have you noticed are your most common typos? Is it a word you always spell incorrectly, a word you always seem to leave out or a word you type too fast and it always seems to come out backward?

For me, I've recently noticed that I often type things that end in "ing" with "ign" for some reason such as: "somethign" instead of "something". This is probably due to the fact that I type with two fingers and still stare at the keyboard whenever I type something and only catch my typos when I review what I've written.

How about all of you good folks?

Take care all.

teh, mostly. Sometimes I leave the "o" out of from. Frm. :(

"Teh" is an obvious one.

I also have to be careful when typing "disk" because it almost invariably comes out "dick." That's because I have a friend named Dick though, not because I'm perverted.

Also, the 'x' is too close to the 'c', which makes it hard to type "sec."

Yeah, I do "teh" a lot.

ing's usually get me the most. Other than that I have trouble with doesn't / does'nt.
The is a problem too but everyone just things you are being 'cool' cause you spell it teh. . . . for me - it's always a typo. :)

Since I am perfect, I never have typos. The only typing mistakes I ever make is simply typing something different than what I mean. I don't misspell anything, I just type the wrong word. Like, I remember I was talking about RA Dickey, a pitcher for the Rangers, when I typed:

"Of course he's a starting pitcher. He once threw 185 innings in a college game."

Obviously, this is impossible, I actually meant, "He once threw 185 pitches in a college game." However, I just naturally typed the wrong thing.

But I never type "teh" or "ign" or anything like that.

hm. lessee.

I can remember my best typo, but that's not a common one. It was bel; instead of be.

sometimes I type quit as quti, but not often.

not too many typos really, although I had a tough time typing typo back there. :D oh, and I typoed typing as typoing. xD

and there's *nods* being typed as *ndos* or *nods8 or at best *ndos8

I don't make a bunch of typos, but I usually do have my sentences end with a "\" on occasions.

Just because her perversion doesn't cause her to type 'dick' doesn't mean it doesn't cause her to do other things.

Sometimes if i'm typing about the band "Tool" it comes out "overrated," but those keys are just so damn close together.

Ouch!

As the apostrophe and enter keys are next to each other, I often type something like, "I don
t need to go just yet."

I often type "form" instead of "from," and spellcheckers don't ever catch that. When I type very quickly, I often meld words together when the start and end with similar letters. For example, if I were typing "Start the race" really fast I might type "Starthe race." Sometimes, when I am typing a string of very short word, like "is it in the," I will just skip one of the words. And I rather often type "hold on a sex" instead of "hold on a sec" when I'm chatting.

I tend to leave workd out of sentences because my brain sometimes works a bit too fast when I'm posting something.

Don't forget about misspelling 'words'.

I often type "just" as "jsut," "ing" as "ign," "next" as "enxt" and a lot of other ones. Mostly mixing up some letters because I'm typing too fsat. See, I just did it.

When I'm IMing with someone I don't know very well, I try to not make too many typos because it really irritates some people. But then as soon as I get to know them well enough, I unleash the typos and most of my IMs are like this:

towerofstars (9:00:33 PM): i nede to leave son ebcause

Now no one's going to talk to me.

At first, I did not spot it. I read 'fsat' simply as 'fast'. My brain saw all the letters, and I didn't even read the whole word... I just recognised it immediatly. So, your typo was lost on me. :)

At Fool's Gold, it's apparently hilarious to mis-spell "Yuna" as "Yuan".
Still don't understand that one.

I've been there for over a year, and I don't understand that one either.

And I blame this typo on krissy: in AIM convos(and only on AIM), when I'm typing fast I sometimes have "abou tit" instead of "about it." xD

My username is a typo.

That's what I used to say. :)

I guess I typo pretty much everything sometimes. I've started making lots of typos that english speaking people make ( english is my 3rd language). I sometimes type "you're" as "your", etc. Not often though, but sometimes I write up the similar word as it's pronounced. Also, I've noticed that many American people types to words that ends with "-ar" often "-er". For example, I've seen a former wrestler Brock Lesnar typed as "Brock Lesner", even by "good" writers in "good" articles and often. maybe because "-er" is so common in surnames there?

( btw, I just typoed and fixed 'former' by typing 'fromer' and almost did it again)

I don't think that I've ever misspelt 'the' as 'teh' unlike many others.

Meh, in anycase, for me:

'form' instead of 'from'
'mwh' instead of 'meh'
'thijnk' instead of 'think'
'aboot' instead of 'about' (But I do that on purpose...noo doot aboot it)
