Which has Your Favorite Chocobo Tunes?

Which FF has the best Chocobo jams in your opinion?

I think VII (7) did. The Chocobo racing anyway...it always makes me think "Hillbillys from Space" for some reason. :p

Oh and from what I know Chocobos weren't around in I, II, and III. And I didn't include X-2 because they left out chocobo music (as well as victory fanfare...heathens :mad2: ). Someone feel free to correct me if I am wrong about that.

Agreed. FF7's Chocobo themes were good too, and FF8 had the nice band arrangement, but FF9 still had my favorite Chocobo themes.

FFVII's 5/4 chocobo tune was nice and offbeat. The 3/4 chocobo waltz from VII was also nice and offbeat, too. The rest of the games have it mostly bland, 4/4 stuff, although FFVI's and FFX's are quite brash.

The worst ones I've heard are X-2's and X's. X-2 is an evil twisted version that sounds horrible. X is the result of a lack of new ideas.

That, and FFVI's Grand Finale's Milan De Chocobo. So...forgetable.

FFVII (as far as I remember) had more chocobo-stuff than any other FF, with it's chocobo racing and breeding and whatnot, and for this reason the chocobo theme is the most chocobo of the lot. It might not be the best tune - I don't even remember some of the others - but it's definitely the most chocobo-ish one of the lot. So many variations yet all with the same boppy feel to them. Lovely stuff. God I love chocobos.

Actually, I would say that the amount of chocobo stuff in FFIX is at least sub-par with FFVII, if it doesn't surpass it. And in FFIX, you can get a chocobo that can fly. For that reason alone you should play it. :D
