First of all, I know that there's many that don't like to use Cait Sith in battles...but as for me I love to use that giant mog whenever it calls me close. Okay, I'll admit that he's not the strongest character but! he certainly is one of the most reliabe in battles. (Agree or Disagree?).
His personality is very interesting...controlled from Midgar by a certain Mr. Reeve who starts by admitting that he doesn't exactly agrees with his bosses on they're point of views...but nontheless his completely loyal...that is until he realize's that "the true meaning of Freedom" is found by the help of friends...and he certainly manages to convince 'em of his loyalty. The only problem with Cait Sith is the dialogue translation and well...I've played the Japanese version which I fully understand ...no I'm just kidding I don't understand a s***....lucky for me that my brother is from Japan :) .
It's really amazing how simplistic Cait Sith comes around in the Japanese version...he's less of a jerk...and a bit more humane "YES" even if he's only a Toy Mog. What Cait Sith also symbolizes is "torn identity" which can be quite frustrating...women are the ones who can identify with him the most...seeing that during their PMS period they can be very sweet  one moment...and quite insane :mad2: the other...only kidding ;) . Dammit just submit your appreciation dub underneath.

Level 1
Dice
Cait Sith throws several dices onto the ground, the resulting score determines how much damage is inflicted to a single enemy.

Level 2
Slots
There can be many different outcomes with his limit as you gamble your way to a more useful outcome.

3 Stars = Mog Dance
A tiny Mog will appear and perform a dance that will restore the party's HP and MP.

3 Kings = Toy Soldier
Six toy soldiers appear and attack any enemies that are present.

3 Bars = Summon
Cait Sith randomly determines a summon spell.

3 Mog = Transform
Cait Sith transforms into a giant version of himself. His team mates will disappear for the rest of battle. Only Cait Sith will get experience with in this battle and afterwards the party's HP will be reduced to 3333 while their MP will be 333.

3 Hearts = Lucky Girl
Party's hit percentage is 100. Also the attack damage for a standard physical attack is doubled.

2 Cait Sith & Bar = Death to All
This is a bad roll, get this and it is Game Over... but this is very rare.

3 Cait Sith = Instant Victory
All enemies (including bosses) are instantly killed. This is extremely difficult to get and it may seem that you never will get it.

Permanant Recordations I think he's cool. I have NO idea why people don't like Him he's always been the strongest in my team (Maybe because I level'd him so much) and of course he DID kill Sephy in one hit! So yeah he's good if you level him and I think he's fun to have in your team. :mog: :mog:

I appreciate the fact that he died at least once.

Let's compare final Limit Breaks, shall we?

While Cait Sith has a variety of Limit Breaks, some being useful, and one actually being able to kill you, the other characters' have more useful Limit Breaks.

Cloud being able to hit the enemy/enemies at least 16 times, Tifa being able to hit 7 times, Aeris being able to cure the party of all negative status effects, restore all HP and MP, AND making them invincible for a period of time, and Cid being able to hit the enemy/enemies multiple times. I would choose Omnislash over praying for an instant victory any day. That's why most people hate Cait Sith.

I think we should burn him...jk.

Yeah I never really used him, it was always Cloud, Barret, Cid for me.

But when I did use him he was somewhat reliable to me, very different from the rest of the characters...*because he was a friggin spy*

But he was okay.

*heh heh burn*

*grins sheepishly*...i named my Cait Sith *uglything*. (and redxiii tigger). I know, i know, not so nice, but i just can't stand him. If he didn't have that mog thing underneath him, I probably wouldn't hate him as much, but he's just too weird for me. Later on he starts talking like a hillbilly, and that was just too much.

But if you like him, that's great---it makes the game more enjoyable when you like the characters. I'm glad he can be appreciated.

I second that! I think Reeve is one of the most fascinating minor characters in the game, but I never used Cait Sith in my party very much.

Well, in my opinion Caith Sith was the only bad character in FFVII.

and even ffVI had TWO bad characters (Umaro and Gogo) so there is at least one thing ffVII owns over ffVI and shows how damn good ffVII is

Yeah, what was up with that? The first time I noticed it was when he was arguing w/ Barret. I figured at first he was just trying to make fun of Barret and piss him off more but he kept going afterwards. Maybe Mr. Reeve got escorted to a prison in the country after ShinRa found out about him...?

Cait Sith was the only great character in FFVII, in my opinion. He motivates, helps, and his the way he dances while he battles is pretty funny too! And I appreciate the fact that he got killed, and can never die. So Cait Sith = excellent.

I'll do my best to pretend I didn't read that and no one ever posted it...

Well, I think Cath Sith is ok as a character in the storyline, ect., but hes not much in battles...I don't hate him, I just don't care for him in battles, thats all. I did like him for the soul fact that he was such a different character. He was a robot controlled by a spy who worked for the corporation your fighting against, yet then he turned around and became YOUR spy. I thought that was just great. I don't think I've ever seen a character quite like him, so hes great in that aspect. Hes just lacking in the battle department.

Oh and I'm currecntly on disc 2 right before the underwater reactor thingy...I've beat the game tons of times before, but I have no clue what you guys are talking about that he "began to talk like a hillbilly"...at what point does he start talking like a hick/what part is a prime example? I want to see this.

If you think about it, Cait Sith is a lot like Magus from CT. They were both great characters, storywise, but godawful in battle.
