I have a real serious problem!

At the first c.d. of FF8 at the screenshot of the train, the FMV stops at the midle and it won't start again!
The 2nd - When Balamb start to fly it stop again!
The 3rd c.d. - When Ragnorak is passing through Tears Point, the FMV stops at the midle!
The 4th c.d. - At the end it stopped right when the face of Seifer appears and I only saw the final once, because that thing is always stopping, what the hell is going on??????

Do I need to buy a new FF8???

I had that too on my playstation. It helps when you put it upside-down, but I still bought a new FF.

I clean the c.ds before Iput them in my PS, guess that I have to buy a new one... Pity I really like this one! It was my first (and only) FF! I could have others but what I really like is this!

Hold on a sec...

If the discs are clean and scratch-free, then there's probably nothing wrong with them. Replacing them would be a serious waste of money. How old is your PlayStation? If it's more than a year or two since you bought it, then that's probably where the problem lies. PSX lasers have this tendency to burn out in a relatively short amount of time.

If your FFVIII discs are very badly scratched, or have marks you can't clean off, then you could try getting the discs re-surfaced. It's the best kind of disc repair available. But if the CDs look clean and smooth, then the problem's probably with your PlayStation itself.

to add to big d standing the ps2 up messes it up. I dont know how or why but it does. So does putting in mod chips.

I had my Playstation when I was 10! It was thge best gift that everyone has ever gave to me... Then my father bought me FF8 moths after it appeared and yeah it has some scrathes, but the last c.d, the first and specially the second doesn't have too much! The 3rd is the one who has lot!

Worst than it is taht my mom says that she is not going to buy me another! She says that I'm crazy if I thought that I was going to have another thing like that!!!

If the problem's because of the discs being scratched, then that one's solvable:cool:

You just need to figure out which discs have got problems from the scratches. Then, ask your local game shops and find out which ones offer a CD resurfacing service. Find out which one's the cheapest, then go for it!

Resurfacing is reliable as long as the scratch isn't on the label-side of the disc. As long as the scratches are on the surface (the black side for PSX discs, silver on normal CDs), then that surface can be removed and then replaced with a new one. My second-hand copy of Syphon Filter was badly scratched and used to crash or skip a lot, but then it got resurfaced and now it's perfect. When I bought Metal Gear Solid 2: Substance, one of the DVDs had white stuff on it. Resurfacing fixed that too.

Don't worry, there's no need to shell out your hard-earned money for a replacement, hopefully!:)

Actually I think ytaht her at Portugal if you buy a new game it'd be much cheeper, FF8 is probably in 25€ and if you wan to restore it! I don't want to know the price, here they explore your wallet so much!

There are also some products available that let you repair scratched CDs by yourself.

This (http://www.cdrepair.com/), for instance, and then there's all these (http://search.yahoo.com/search?p=cd+repair&ei=UTF-8&fr=fp-tab-web-t&cop=mss&tab=) too... maybe if you did the same search, but in Portugese, you'd find something available locally?

how did you clean your cd's? try this: get some rubbing alcahol and a cotton ball. put the rubbing alcahol on teh cotton ball and rub it all over your ff8 cd. do it in straight lines, up and down or left to right. or do it left to right, then up and down. after you have cleaned the whole cd get a soft rag or toilet paper or whatever, and wipe it dry. then try to play it. it often times will fix my problems with bad cd's.

Not entirely true. When you turn the PS2 to a vertical position, the lens reads the disc differently. This can solve some of the reading problems that the game may have suffered from when in a horizontal position.

Mod chips rock.

It'd be great for removing dirt or grime, but I can't see how it'd fix scratches. Scratch removal is the biggest problem with CDs, but it can be done.

Also, when you're cleaning a CD, one thing to do it never rub around the disc. Always go in a straight line from the center to the edge, the edge to the center. The laser in a Cd player works like the needle in a record player; it reads information in "rings" around the disc. So, if you rub around in circles, there's the risk of making new scratches that go over the information. A straight from, from edge to center, will do less harm. There should be information on disc maintenance in the instruction manual for the game.:thumb:
