Chrono Cross VS. Xenogears

just a simple question.
I pretty much loved to play CC (my most fav. game ever!!) and I want to buy Xenogears ... perhaps...

is Xenogears as good as CC?? (I haven't seen ist yet, so I dunno)!
please give some godd reasons for your opinion, thanx alot :-)

I liked CC more. But that maybe because of my play style. Quick, Careless and of course...insane amounts of damage. Xenogears was awesome no doubt but due to the slow pace of the game its hard for me to replay it. You can be careless all you want in the game though but I couldn't deal my insane amounts of damage(new game + fools!).

Cross just had my pace and play style down so I could get into and have more fun even on multiple play throughs. Xenogears I have trouble doing that the second time through because I already know the story so I drift to another game due to the slow pace.

CC was a good game, but I think it was nothing compared to Xenogears.

Xenogears was great. CC... it was the battle music! I muted the game every time there wa a battle, and Xenogears' battle music isn't half bad.

I think they both are excellent RPG's, but in different ways.

Xenogears has the best integration of mecha in an RPG that I've seen. The characters are complex, the plot is involving (and a little confusing at times), the battles are interesting and the music is nice.

Chrono Cross has a huge cast of playable characters (which means less depth but lots of options), an interesting magic system, and good replay value. Fast Forward is a godsend! I wish more games had that option. Nice music as well.

I have yet to play Chrono Cross, but Xenogears is an excellent game that belongs in any true RPG fan's collection.

CC was a time waster til the next FF came out to me, the story was....vacant in my opinion, and i could never deal with the though of half my fighters being worthless, cuz you cna't really level up forty at a time. Xenogears is the game in Jesus' Playstation (well, it would be if the whole story wasn't Atheistic and Egotist based). really, buy it. immediately. be prepared for un-american style though, and a slowpace in the middle. but buy it. Masterpiece.

....It has been a number of years since i played that game. Is their some equivalent to it that i'm forgetting, or have I just made an ass out of myself for no reason? If their isn't, take it to mean "I only used four characters or so for teh whole game, and found the other worthless." and pretend i didn't say level up... pleez?

There are star levels but your characters don't need to be fighting to gain better stats. Its automatic. You also mainly gain a star after a boss.

I liked the music better in Chrono Cross, but I liked the story better in Xenogears. I wasn't a big fan of the gameplay in either.

Chrono Cross is a very good game, but Xenogears is fantastic. I regret putting the game off for years because I hate mech games/stories/animes. It wasn't a mech game like I thought, it was actually incredibly religious and deep. And I like that kind of thing.

As much as I HATE the fact that Xenogears has COMPLETELY overrun the general Squenix forum, I will say that Xenogears is FAR better than CC.

But Mystic Quest was good too.

The mentality that sickens me (not saying anyone here has it) is that damn japanophile attitude that if it's made in America, it sucks.

Mystic Quest is one awesome RPG. Sure its easy and doesn't have the greatest story but the gameplay is there. Enemies on screen. Interactive dungons. GIVE UP? NO! It rocks!

Mystic Quest was a cute little game. It had some nifty features, like visible enemies (a big improvement over random battles) and interesting equipment (axes, claws etc...). My sole gripe is that a two member party is very vunerable to monsters that petrify.

That being said, Xenogears and Chrono Cross were both vastly superior.
