Definitely Eminem and Sting at the top of my lists.

Perhaps one of the most underappreciated singer-songwriter of all time, John Denver. Only by understanding his music can you truly realize the contribution he made to the world. Another person on the top of my list has to be Barry Manilow. He is often criticized, though I'm not sure why, as his ability to write music for singing is second to none. He didn't write his lyrics, but the instrumentation to his songs is perhaps the best part.

David Brent isn't that the guy from the office

Heath
07-19-2004, 01:27 PM
Yes, David Brent is the main character of "The Office" played by Ricky Gervais. In the episode of series 1, where they do some staff training, Brent plays some of his songs that he and his band "Foregone Conclusion" played.

I would be crazy if I didnt say my man! I would put up a sound clip if they both weren't too big. but if you have yahoo im you can listen to him play live in the chat room Online Singers Group-although he doesnt pop in as much as he used to... His screen names he would use are Raintherejected2002 or raintheunfortunate1...

oh you wanted someone famous? Id have to say Trent Reznor. I thought it was neat to have an entire album that sounded like he was talking about having girl trouble when it was all about his drug addiction...
And what do the pigs represent anyways???

Amy Lee, definatly. She's extremely underated, but she has one of the most unique voices I've ever heard. And she's written the majority of the songs on her album, Fallen.

Project G

Yes they do, especially boom

jrgen
07-20-2004, 01:31 PM
Yes, but music in boom sucks ass.

And most of their lyrics mean nothing at all.
Example:
THE SPINE, A LINE,
THE FETUS IS MINE,
DON'T FORGET ME
DON'T FORGET ME
DON'T FORGET ME
DON'T FORGET
REVOLT, REVOLT, REVOLUTION,
COUNTER REVOLUTION COUNTER COUNTER REVOLUTION
THE MIND, MIND THE MIND THAT FEEDS THE BLIND,
AND HELPS YOU FIND,
AND MAKES YOU BIND,
THE GAME, IS ON, THE GAME IS ON,
THE GAME IS ON, THE GAME IS ON,
THE GAME IS ON,
THE SPINE, A LINE THE FETUS IS MINE [X 4]
A LIFE, DENIED,
COMATOSIS, COMATOSIS, COMATOSIS,
COMMENT ON MY WORD,
DEFINE, MY WORDS DEFINE,
MY WORDS DEFINE, MY WORDS DEFINE,
MY WORDS DEFINE THE LINE, THE LINE,
REVOLUTION, COUNTER REVOLUTION,
COUNTER COUNTER REVOLUTION, SOLUTION,
DISSILLUSIONED BY POLLUTION,
RESOLUTION STARTING WITH THE SPINE, A LINE
THE FETUS IS MINE, THE SPINE, A LINE
THE FETUS IS MINE[X 6]

SOADs lyrics make no sense at all.

They make sense, they just have a deeper meaning. Prison Song is one of my favourites by them. I love how Serj sings about what's happening in the world.
