Well, it's up to you. If you play FFX-2 before you play FFX, you won't understand quite a bit of the story and should you go back and play FFX the ending will be spoiled for you. It is fun though. FFX is a good good but it is very serious and somber. They are two totally different games, but I would suggest playing FFX first so that you can see Yuna's character advance through the whole saga and not just the second game.

Yes, DEFINITLEY buy FFX. It's a much different game...but very good.

You will know the world better, Yuna's words will mean more to you at certain spots, you'll know what you're doing. I think it's completely necessary, but that's my opinion.

I think that for X-2 to be a better game for you, you should experience X first.

Have fun, in whatever you choose! ;)

Yeah get FFX first. Its a greatest hit now. And FFX-2 is $40 so you can get both for $60 or less.

Cool...thnks for the tips but how long does FFX take to complete on average? Just wondering cause if it takes a while...FFX2 could be cheaper when i finish the game...unless its like a promo...

Yeah, if you play X-2 first you're jsut gonna be lost. Horribly, terribly lost, throughout a GOOD chunks of the game. And it depends on your skill level, and how much you delve into the game (FFX)
You can get TO the final dungeon in thirty hours or so, if your fairly skiled, but to do all the sidequests and truely enjoy the game, set aside 80 or so hours, maybe as much as 100. all in all, you get a $20 that goes for 100 hours. Thats like 20cents an hour. try to find that kinda bang for your buck elsewhere.

It depends... If US version then 60-100 h while International 200-260 h.

there's always a lot more to do in the international version. more quests, things like that. someone else could explain it better, since i don't have it. I don't understand why they can't just do this the first time around.... :rolleyes2

I think they mean they mean Penence, the toughest boss, and the dark aeons. Its only in the International. But they are optional. Also seeing that you live in Canada you don't have to worry about International. So about 80-100 hours. Think you should wait till you finish X to buy X-2. Who knows? X-2 might become a greatest hit also.

It will become a greatest hit, it's already past that sales point. But I think it has to be out for a certain time before it can become a greatest hit though.

Yes get FFX first. So FFX-2's story makes much more sense.

yes, ffX first. though international is much better, cause u get 2 battle the Dark Aeons, oh, and the guy below

Yeah they're completely different, and I do think FFX is more captivating. But both X and X-2 are EXCELLENT games in my humble opinion. :D

Yes, get FFX first, because X-2 is more like a direct extension of X so it makes no sense without having played X prior.

I loved FFX's storyline, however, the sphere grid is the most annoying thing ever....
I loved FFX-2 for its active time battles, really fast paced and get you on your reflexes, also the combo chaining can be really addictive, it has become a habit of mine to use a Trigger Happy and letting the two other girls to attack as well, thereby creating a rather long chain! you should see the the speed of my fingers!

FFX was something that you definetly need to catch up on. It's fast and easy, and once you beat that game you can move on quickly to FFX-2.

FFX-2 is confusing even if you play it after FFX.
So I can't imagine how bad it'll be when you play it before.

Get FFX. It was much more fun. ^_^

X is better. Much more involving. Though I do prefer the garment system to the sphere grid.

FF X is definitely better, IMO. And you need it for FF X-2 to make sense. But I really don't like FF X-2 that much.

I definately think that you should play FFX before FFX2. If you did it the other way around it would be kinda pointless. I liked X-2, but not as much as others.

Pehaps you should try renting or borrowing FF10, Its either like or hate and best know you will hate it until the end of time before you splash out on it.
