View Full Version : Do you smoke cigarettes?

White Raven

So do ya?

Why or why not?

(And I'm talking aboot just cigarettes, but you may expand the subject if you want.)

Personally I think that it's a sick habit, and a cigarette has never touched my lips. Though countless puffs have gone into my lungs thanks to other smokers.

When I was a kid I always told my dad "If you don't stop smoking, I will start!" so when I was 15 I started smoking.

It didn't work though. I quit shortly after turning 18. It wasn't hard to quit.

I smoked cigaretts from age 10 - 14. I started off with one every now and then, only when i was with other smokers. It was a sort of trend thing. I didn't like it at all. They taste fowl. at some point when i was 15 my mother caught me and decided to use her own scare tactics to make me stop. I haven't smokes a cigarett since. Though i do smoke a cinamon stick every once in a while. Has a nice tangy after taste.

I tried a cigarette once and I don't see what the fuss is about.

No. I never will. Quite possible the most digusting, worthless thing a person can do with their lives.

Nope. Never, Uh-uh, no chance. Can't stand the thought of voluntarily inhaling noxious fumes (So sayeth the lad who worked a year and a half in a shop....full of noxious fumes....voluntarily.) But to those who do, your choice. Go right ahead.

I smoked cigaretts from age 10 - 14.
That's insane.

I've never smoked a cigarette. I've never even held one and I never plan on starting. I don't see why anyone smokes and I don't see why they even exist.

Those Crazy world commercials got to me and the Truth ones. My older sis was trying to get me to some the other day and I told her no she's an idiot. I also hate the smell of smoke it makes me sick. :(

Those crazy world commercials are the best commercials ever. Don't argue. I love the radiation people one.

Well, like i said, i never liked doing it. It was a social thing. More peer pressure than anything else. I know that's no excuse for it. But there ya go. I didn't feel like being excluded from the only group of people in my age group that would tollerate me. Notice i said tollerate and not accept. I was a bit of a loner, a social outcast. By joining the smokers, i had somewhere to go and people i had something in common with. But now i'm a healthy woung tigger with no intentions of returning to the dark and smoky side.

Nope, no cigarettes. I tried a Cigar once, but I didn't know what I was doing so I ended up swallowing the smoke. Blech.

It's a completely stupid habit that will get you nowhere in life but dead. It isn't doing anybody any good, and I don't understand why people do it. 'To look cool.' Does it look cool when you're out on the streets smoking, 45 years old but looking 60? I don't think so.

My mom used to smoke out in the side of my house with her friends, which happens to be right next to my window. So every night for three years, I had to have that stuff in my lungs. Yes, I know that I could have closed my window, but it always gets in the house, one way or another. Plus, I was too afraid that if I left the comfort of my bed, the boogie man would get me (i was about 7 at the time).

Don't do it. There's no reason to, you're just going to regret it later on, when it's to late. Have you ever met someone who said they were glad they started smoking? I wish they would make cigarettes illegal, but I know that won't happen. :shame:

Nope, but my friend who I used to walk to college with (He's gone now! Gone! No, not dead of lung cancer or anything...) did so maybe I kinda passively did off him, but it didn't really bother me.

My sister let me try one and I choked and coughed and gave it back and sucked on two cough drops to get the icky taste out of my mouth.
I don't mind being around people who smoke though, because I kinda like the smell >_>

I've smoked twice, both when I was crazy drunk. I was in bad shape afterwards. That was enough for me.

Hookah and ganja are still good, though.

I don't smoke because it would be bad for my health and it makes you smell.

Zorander! Thats pretty young...and bad too. A cigarette has never come into my hand nor will it ever(hopefully). Like White Raven, I have inhaled the smoke of cigarettes.

"Those Crazy world commercials got to me and the Truth ones. My older sis was trying to get me to some the other day and I told her no she's an idiot. I also hate the smell of smoke it makes me sick. "

I love the smell of ciggarette smoke. i dont smoke though. i have taken a puff or two in my lifetime and it wasnt anything special to me. not worth doing again. i smoke weed sometimes. it's far safer than ciggarettes (health-wise) its not addictive, and unlike ciggarettes, it feels good. though, anything done in excess is bad, which is why i don't do it very often.

"I started smoking when I was 13 or 14. I've decided to quit as of last night. And same with pot. I'm done with drugs."

way to go escobar. good luck with that.

Nope, I don't smoke... But I tried it once though. I was drunk and I wanted to see what it was like to smoke (I wanted to understand why so many poeple smoke... If there was somehing fantastic about it or something) and so I tried it. It was horrible. I instantly felt sick and wanted to vomit, plus it felt like it burned my throat... Not a nice feeling.

Yeah, but only when I'm drinking to increase the effects of alcohol. it makes my head go spin. If I smoked while sobre I'd probably get addicted.

Cigars are the best though, I know you're not supposed to inhale them but I do anyway. Mmm...ashphalt. :smash:

No I dont smoke, I hope I never will either....I dont smoke because I'm not old enough and its illegal for me too, its a waste of money and I cant be bothered breaking the law.

White Raven
07-25-2004, 03:07 PM
I havn't smoked a full cigar, and when I do smoke I don't inhale, I suck it. And it's mostly for the sweet taste of it. Yum.

And of course there is the occasional toke...

Nope, never have. I really don't want to. My grandma had lung cancer from smoking, they had to cut off a lot of one of her lungs. I don't want that to happen to me too.

Giga Guess
07-25-2004, 05:03 PM
Yeah. Both of my grandparents on my Dad's side died from Emphysema. Not a good thing, IMHO, and NOT something that encouraged me to take a puff.

I've smoked for 14 years now. I've tried to quit on regular intervals for the past 10 years. Tried cold turkey, tried over-smoking to make myself sick, switching brands sporadically (again, to make myself sick... some people claim this works), Nicorette. Reason why it's never stuck I suppose is because I've quit alot of other drugs, too, and there's only so much willpower I can expend at any particular time. I plan to try the patch next, but there's still the matter of keeping myself from drinking... cause I'm such a bad drunk... Well, one thing at a time.

I really do want to quit, though. I managed to quit for a whole month and a half once. I saved a ton of money, felt better after working out, sex was fantastic all over again. Smoking affects you on more levels than I think most people realise. It's going to be really nice to be able to call myself smoke free again one of these days.

Now don't i feel like a loser, I have been smoking since i was 15, and i am now 22, and even though i know the concequences and i have seen the comercials, i just can't give it up (i like it), for me it's an all or nothing thing, so cutting down is out of the question. I smoke about half a pack a day, more when i'm drinking. (and as stupid as it sounds i like it!!) dumbass me eh? well i do plan to quit before the winter cause all of Toronto and surroundin areas have all gone non smoking, that includes bars, clubs, pubs and restaurants etc. so i'm always forced out side. Which is all fine and dandy now that it's the summer but once winter comes, it's REALLY gonna suck. I'll pop in sometime and let you know when i quit.

No, I've never smoked before, but I don't mind if anybody does. Hey, it's none of my business... If they want to smoke then there's nothing I could or should do about it anyway.

I have never smoked before, but some of my relatives do and I don't much enjoy going to casinos around here because of second hand smoke. @_@ I almost had to watch my mom suffer the loss of her father because of his emphaysema.

I don't very much favor what it does to someone's body and I see it's not always easy to quit. I'm not going to start, that's for sure. *nodnod*

I've not smoked, but personally, I think there are much worse things you could do to yourself, so it's not that horrible of a habit, and it keeps a lot of people in jobs, so whatever.
