Every once in a while, I get a message from somebody who I do not know at all. They ask me "Who is this?" or "Why are you on my list?" I used to be helpful, but I really don't give a damn anymore and have resorted to blasting them to pieces and shredding their dignity. Sure, it's immoral and bad karma and all that crap, but it makes me feel a little better afterward.

Is it afterward or afterwards?

So the most recent one went like this:
Titans6654: who is this? If this is you, sorry, but seriously, if it is you, then you know who I am, don't you?
me: If you don't know who I am, then why the :D:D:D:D are you messaging me?
me: As soon as I log on, mind you. [Yeah, this happened. WTF, man.]
him: ok

Problem solved. One less person I have to dick around with. :)

I get invited to chat woth a bunch of bots saying "Click the link in my profile". Of course I never trust links in AIM profiles.

Chat room bots realy bug me...

But the people who program them are verry clever. Being able to make a preprogramed discussion before giving you a link to their smut site.

Bot:Hey
Me: hello
Bot: how old are you?
Me: 15, your a bit old for me.
Bot:I like em like that.
Me: Heh...
Bot: do you like girl on guy action
Me: um...
Bot then come to >insert porn site here< and click on my profile!
Me: $#!7....

Simple solution. If they aren't on my buddy list, they can't message me.

Another solution: Just don't log on. :D?

I go on AIM about once a week these days, usually to see if anyone from school is on, or something to do with tGA. No one ever messages me, so I don't have that problem. :)

My boyfriends ex used to IM me and pretend to be friendly with me but she just wanted to know if we were going out, and then if he talked crap about her.
Hardly any idiots IM me anymore :(

i never have ppl im me unless i know them, or if my friend is over and he chats with tons of ppl and puts them into my buddies list. i hate it, there all "hey!" and they start talking about things they talked about with my friend. then i say somthin like "do i know you, maybe you were talking to my friend" then they leave..... sometimes

People still exist who don't use "Block everyone not on my buddy list"? AIM would be worthless without that option.

I don't block people who aren't on my list, but I never have any problems. If they IM me and I don't know them, I ask why they're IMing me and we have discovery time.

I used to do that, up until last week. There've been a ton of random people that have been IMing me. One of them was my friend's girlfriend, who I didn't even know, and, of course, she asks, "Who are you? You're on my buddy list." I didn't really mind, but if it gets too outta hand, I'ma gonna have to shoot a hole in my wall.

I'm hardly on anymore, so I don't have that problem.

I almost never use AIM... but there's tons of spam on ICQ. It has become something of a nuisance... but I manage.

That's why I like MSN - no spam there, except in e-mails.

I don't use aim.
Of course you do. Otherwise we couldn't have our lovely conversations. :D

I'm on AIM at some point every day, and I never get IMs from people I don't know. I don't have that option enabled.

If he said he didn't have aim, that would be a completely different story.

I get IMed by random people sometimes. I ask who they are. If they want to screw with me (as is usually the case) then I just block them.
