Yea, it can be done... but it will take at the very least about 160 hours.
In the battle arena, you can figth monsters that drops etc Strength Spheres, to fill out the empty nods with.

yes. well ok not everyone :P i hated wakka so hes the only one without any leveling. but otherwise yes.

i have the sphere grid complete, but i only just them for my team that i always use ( tidus, yuna, wakka ) . i took me 100 hours.

hmm, i think the sphere grid is the most easy way to improve your party. especially the stats maxing is better than the other FF games.

Stats don't max out at 255, highest I got was 500 something

How did you manage that? Besides HP and MP, the highest my characters stats could get was 255.

I've mastered the Sphere Grid in FFX, yeah. It took a fair amount of time, but it wasn't that bad. And it wasn't inane leveling up too - you had to kinda plan it out and stuff.

I've tried to see if I can get my stats over 255, and, I couldn't. Stats cap at 255, even if you fill out more stats on the grid. Example - you activate 80 +4 Strength nodes - your strength is still 255, not 320 + base strength.
The only ones that can go higher are HP - up to 99999, and MP - up to 9999 (of course, you must have Break HP/MP Limit).

This only applies to FFX:NA, not the PAL version, as I don't have that.

No, it is exactly the same with the PAL version. There is NO way your stats can go over 255, except as previously mentioned your HP and MP.

So... you mean... if you have 255def... and then fill out 100 more def with def+4 nods, then your def will act like it was 355?

Yes i think so, i dont think the game would allow u 2 fill nodes if it has no effect, that would be evil :D

I think you're confused with FF7 where you can continue morphing the Gelnika enemies for stats and it IS possible to exceed 255. That doesn't happen in FFX, at least to my knowledge.

I advice you not to do this but yes I have done it with all my character. I repeat do not do this, unless you are extremely bored. But yeah it's very long and tiring.

but that is not true! i,ve got several speed stats to 255 and it wont let me use any more luck sources on them.
