You ask if anyone likes Anime on an FF site. . ? I'm not going to say anything about the question, but AnImE RULES. Peh... Shaman King... I respect your opinion. :) My favorites are, in no particular order:

And Beserk, M.D. Geist, and Vampire Hunter D 1&2 was good. I have 2 of those on dvds and 1 on vhs. :D

There is a few good in a sea of crap. Just like movies and just like telvision or music. I will download a series usually and then watch it over a weekend when I have nothing to really do. I have seen quite a few and I can say that of that bunch there have been few to really impress me.

Chrno Crusade was alright. I thought it wasn't continuous enough and had too many pointless episodes.

The only 2 that I find to be really great right now are Full Metal Alchemist(can't wait for episode 44) and .hack//sign(dusk was complete crap).

Evangelion is pretty good but it seemed too rushed at the end(I like the last two episodes...I refer to the charaters and their conclusions leading up to the last 2 episodes) AND it suffered a lot in the first have from 'a new random bad guy every week' syndrome.

Escaflowne was okay as well as just about everything else.

My main problem is I have too much free time on my hands(hard to believe with how much crap I actually do) and because of that, even if I don't like the show too much I will download it and watch it just to know the story and what happens even if I think it is only okay at best. I have to really think the whole thing is utterly stupid to do otherwise. Also because of technology now it is just so accessable and easy to get as compared to the past.

CURSE THESE FACTORS! The only series I have that I paid money for was .hack//sign because I liked it that much.

Not to say that Shaman King is BAD, but it's really not that good.

Ruroni Kenshin is another favorite of mine though, the manga, anyway.

Escaflowne is still one of the best anime ever made.

Laputa, Princess Mononoke, and other Miyazaki works.

I still enjoy Maison Ikkoku.

Fruits Basket is cool as well.

I also enjoyed Saber Marionette J and Steam Detectives (although in both cases I liked the villains more than the heros).

Right now I'm collecting Last Exile and Wolf's Rain. In Last Exile the computer animation mixed with cel animation was jarring at first, but the characters are interesting and the story involving. I'ver only got the first volume of Wolf's Rain, but so far the premise is intriguing are these guys werewolves or what?

I am an anime fan although I need to see more of it, so far:

Neon Genisis Evangelion
Martian Successor Nadesico (ETERNAL FAN I BE NOW)
Wings of Homnishie (Great film)
Perfect Blue (Great Thriller)
Burn Up Excess (A bit adult but still very funny)
CCS (I prefer the Jap version subbed)
A few other bits and bobs as well...

I sound really sad there, xD, but no I do like Anime :D

If any one has broadband internet I suggest checking out www.boxtorrents.com for anime. They have a whole boat load of crap. Its under going some reconstruction right now but you can find quite a bit of new anime there as well as some old popular ones. I said broadband because a series of 26 episodes can run as high as 4.5 gigs.

The only anime I like is Yuroiden Samurai Troopers and Street Fighter.

Other than that, anime doesn't really offer much. I never understood why people would shell out their life savings over cartoons. My brother use to do that, but then now he just wants to sell it. He has Escaflowne, Cowboy Bebop, and all those other titles I'll never be familiar with.

But like Erased said, asking anyone if they like anime on an FF site is pretty much the same as asking on an anime site...so of course you'll get your anime geeks at every forum.

I love so many different anime...too many to name really. So yes.

And not ot be an ass, but I saw Shaman King and AHHHHHH horrible. :cry: Its another one of those Pokemon/BeyBlade/Digimon/Monster Rancher/YuGiOh type shows, but the characters are alot more lifeless, though the whole spirit combat concept is kinda cool. I don't like it....ugh.

But I have to say, my favorite is probably Serial Experiments Lain. Its just too damn brilliant...and ecstatcy spawned. :)

If you judge all anime after watching childrens anime....for shame.

Now matter how much I watch F3 I never get tired of it.

I got bored with Dragon Ball already. It's goot but I think it can get a bit repetetive at times, I do like the combat in it though.

I also have a fondess for Gundam Wing, that's a great anime there.

You know, I've tried so many times to watch that anime, and no matter how much I try, I just can't seem to get into it or like it...this seems to go for all mecha anime I have come across.

I love Xenogears though, if that counts(it was kinda a game/anime).

Oh, get Card Captor Sakura! I hate the dub for making Tomoyo so bad.

Anyway, I like anime. InuYasha is pretty good (very overhypered by dumb fanbrats tho), ADORE Gravitation, Yami no matesui and Card Captor Sakura, Rurouni Kenshin and .hack//SIGN are good too.

I'm more into manga at the moment tho.

That's all I can think of. Card Captor Sakura is OK but the Yaoi in it ruined those parts for me. Escaflowne Shojo isn't too great. It's OK but Van turns into a midget. As well as an idiot.

F3 kicks ass.

I just got done watching Last Exile. It was okay. It had a lot of style to it but it wasn't the style that I really could get into and I felt the ending was once again rushed(Seeing as how I though .Hack//Sign had a perfect pace...everything will seem rushed to me).

Now its on to Noir and Cowboy Bebop...which one will be better? The Assasins or the Bounty Hunters?

Am I the only one that likes the Fatal Fury anime? I used to have that on VHS but I lost it.
Also if this isn't the obvious but I like Plastic Little. It's not hentai but if you watched t you'd see why.

Does anybody know of any anime that mostly involves martial arts besides Fatal Fury, Street Fighter, Tekken, and Toshinden?

Dude, that has to be the most in depth of the three series. It even shows stuff about Ryu's past you'd never lear like Ryu;s connections to Akuma and the dark Hadou or Ryu having a little brother.

that was all incoherent rubbish they added imho. pathetic story with pathetic fighting made it really bad. it lacked the spirit of streetfighter.

not to mention Akuma should have done something and there is no way Ryu would have got battered by those weak guys in the alley way even if he stood there.

Card Captor Sakura is OK but the Yaoi in it ruined those parts for me.

If you disliked it in Card Captor Sakura, I would recommand you stay away from the rest of CLAMP's works.

I have watched so many anime series. Didn't help that my roommate had a huge collection... You name it, I probably watched it. In Japanese with English subtitles, of course. Most dubs saved for the Cowboy Bepop one just plain annoy me.

And I won't touch shows like Pokémon, Digimon, and the likes with a ten feet pole.... :eep:

I do love anime, but I don't worship it. Nowadays (though I will always love Sailor Moon), I tune into anime that's aimed for adults; such as Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex, Wolf's Rain, Cowboy Bebop, etc. Those shows are so awesome, that I can never get enough of them. :cool:

I haven't seen the Ghost in the Shell series yet, because I thought it'd end up sucking...but I've heard nothing but good about it.

chaos: All Gundam, with the exception of G Gundam. I loved Wing, event though it was supposed to be the Gundam to get the kids addicted. It was the first one I watched, but I still enjoy watching it now.

Rubedo: The newer ones (SEED/SEED DESTINY) are also very good, especially in the storyline department, and are highly rated in Japan. Now, I must leave you as I go to download yet another subbed episode of SEED Destiny. :cool:

EDIT: Sailor Moon is teh rawk (Especially MoonLight Knight ^__^)

Ive seen many, but some of my favs are-
Evangelion (a fan forever... Im slowly collecting the platinum ed's)
InuYasha (Not, and never will be a raging fan, Good anime none the less)
Noir (Pure awsomeness)
Cowboy Bebop (One of the best, it will never get old)
FLCL (So expensive, but well worth it)
FMA (I wanna see more!)
The most recent series that Ive watched was Chobits. It was surprisingly good. I liked it enough for it to be up there with my favs... Maybe its because I have so much in common with the main character :exdee:

Yeah. The same time slot that Fullmetal Alchemist had. Stupid one week breaks. On a nice side note, Anime-Kraze released the Gundam Seed Special 1 DVD rip. 1.3 GB and it is suppose to be really nice quality with AC3 audio.

chaos: Gosh darn it, after I downloaded, I tried to move the file to another location on my pc, but screwed up, making it so that I have to re-download. All I caught was the scene where they showed a recap of the last episode where the Zaku Warriors- Rey and Lumanaria were firing large cannons at Orb.

EDIT: Phew, nevermind. I finally located the original file.

I love anime....and I love SM!!!I wish the last season would be release in North America...*thinks about what he said* Wait nevermind, they would only butcher it!!!....*plots revenge on whoever edited SM series to death*. I nave only dial-up*cries* So I can't download much anime, and I live in the middle of nowhere, so that means I can't buy much either. But I can't believe no one mentioned WHR (Witch Hunter Robin) It's awesome there is only 26 episodes tho....I manage to see:

-The Vision of Escaflowne, but not the movie *cries* (I love this show, it's beautifully drawn)
-Gundam Wing, and I have Endless Waltz on VHS (Pretty good stuff)
-Gundam SEED (I HATE!!!! Flay, she's a *uses metaphor for female dog*
-WHR (I LOVE IT!!!)
-Sailor Moon (*Worships Neo Queen Selenity*, *curses the people who edited it*

i,ll add a few that are barely mentioned but are all genius...

Gunbuster= The prototype for Evangelion by the same guy, and without its success Gainax would have gone out of business (hence, there would have been NO Evangelion).

Wings of the Honnamise= The reason Gainax went almost bankrupt. It was the most expensive Anime ever before Akira, but was a financial disaster. However its one of the all time classics. Was cut by manga entertainment to get it down to a pg (they cut out a pivotal attempted rape scene).

Macross-Do you remember love = This 1984 movie of the seris is classic space opera not to be missed.

Orguss 02 = One of the most underated Animes. Like Escaflowne its one of the *medievil mecha* shows.

Ghost in the Shell SAC = Enough said.

Patlabour 2 = The piniacle of the Patlabour seris.

the OVA Prequals of the R Kenshin Seris Trust and Betrayal. Easily surpass the seris and rock.

Winds of Amnesia = Another unsung classic. Deep without being ponderous, action without disrupting the narrative and awfully painful at times, a must see.

Ya, anime is great. I really like Rumiko's works, Urusei Yatsura looked funny from what I said, Ranma 1/2 is also a really great Rumiko anime. My favorite is Maison Ikkoku, the mangas are excellent, and the anime is good, but I prefer the mangas.

I've seen the Princess Nine series which is a good series, some episodes from Ah My Goddess!, though I'm collecting the mangas as it is now. From what i've read from the Naruto mangas, they're pretty good too.

Fatal Fury was a great set of movies, and I used to be big into Ronin Warriors as a boy.. Though I have to say that I hated the Tekken movie. Simply horrible IMO. I was prepared to see the first few episodes at a viewing at Otakon of Full Metal Alchemist, but, they messed something up and they only showed the first episode, but it looked interesting. I also caught an interesting anime that seemed to be based on RPG game rules, I don't remember what it was called..

Saiyman has Xenosaga and it looked good. It airs on Wednesdays or Thursday night in Japan. So far Anime Yuki is the only one doing a fansub that I know of. They have it out already but I am not sure how long it took as I did not find it right away. Worst case senerio the sub comes out on the weekend sometime.

chaos: The Xenosaga anime was pretty good. The story set off a bit faster, but I can't really be able to adjust to it, after watching all this Gundam SEED Destiny. The main theme is pretty good though.

I know what you mean Trumpet. But I think Xenosaga is suppose to be only 13 episodes. Considering the speed they are moving we may get more story parts that were left out. Maybe stuff about Wilhelm or more Marguilus or Albedo. Its the hope but I would like a nice quick recap of the whole episode lying around instead of playing through the whole game. Goes faster.

I love anime, but I'm pretty limited to what anime I can get. I know I could watch Cartoon Network, but I have been boycotting it for a couple of years now.

The only anime I can get is the series that got me hooked on anime: Gundam Wing. The older I get, the more I understand it.

I adore anime. I've never seen Escaflowne other than the movie but I did just buy the box set offline and am anxiously awaiting to pull an all day / all nighter for it. The AMVs I have for it seem awesome-tastic!

chaos: Gundam SEED Ep.14 is now out on Saiyaman, and a few other unsubbing bt sources. IT starts off scaring you with an estimated long waited period, but chops down to about 50 minutes left. I myself am not done yet, but it's going to have a new opening and ending.

I am getting it right now...I don't know if the new opening song and ending song can match up to the first ones as they were just flat out more awesome than awesome. I can't wait. I am at about 70% complete myself right now.

chaos: The new opening is great; In some cases, better than the first one- although the ending song is completely meh. I myself couldn't hear it that well. The episode was filled with a lot of flashbacks, but the main point was okay.

Trowa: Seeing Yuula hide behind Cagalli made me fall out of my seat laughing; then again, I can't blame him. Freedom is quite scary :D... Errr... *Sits and stares and sits and stares*

The whole episode is a laugh riot. Sephex watched with me and we just kept making cracks the whole episode. It was too funny and Yuula didn't help the situation.

The new opening is good. I still like the original better. New ending...no. Its okay but I liked the other one because it was more upbeat or faster paced.

The new opening also pretty much confirms that our Masked friend is Mwa. I am also glad to see that Bart will get a Gundam as well as a new indiviual that we have yet to see. Things look to be getting really interesting. I wonder where things will go from here.

chaos: Agreed, the older opening was better. TM Revolution's intros always set a better mood, and with their Gundam SEED song, "Invoke" it worked even better than "Ignited". The ending is pretty corny, no offense. They make it seem like EVERYONE has to be paired up.

Albedo: *Laughs maniacally* As for the Yuula situation. He was pretty pathetic, hiding behind Cagalli.

Trowa: Yes, and Neo is for sure Mwu now. Before, from episode 1-13 there were many clues proving to it. Like Mwu's helmet floating out in space being removed in SEED Special Edition, Neo piloting a Mobile Armor, his NewType Signal with Rey. Looks, and so many more. There would be no reason for Murrue to know Neo unless he was in fact Mwu.

chaos: It's good to see Andy getting a new Gundam, which is in fact painted mostly gold. Although, having to arm, and a missing eye, he might in fact be cut in half again.

Rubedo: And who is that orange haired guy/girl piloting that Orange Zaku? He/she strangely reminds me of Miguel.

No doubt the new ending is corny. I was mainly talking about just the song being okay. The visuals are :erm: I like the original ending visuals better. All the death and destruction in the background is always awesome.

I don't want to see Andy go down...again. He is a cool character and appearntly makes an awesome cup of joe.

I don't know who is in the Orange Zaku but I like that the sword on that has a double sided laser on it unlike the Impluse of X-Strike's.

One thing I thought would be be funny as hell is if Andy, Murrue and Lucas all had a big brawl to see who would command the ship(didn't they all command 3 separate ships at the end of Seed? ) That would have been so funny.

I must have missed that part with all the joking going on between Sephex and I. I will watch it a bit more seriously when the sub is out...although I don't know who with Yuula there. I will not be able to wait till he uses Cagalli like a shield. That was too funny. Then his facial expressions. Priceless.
