First off don't swear too much in this thread, I don't want the mods to put anthrax in my oatmeal. :p

But when was the age when you first started swearing and you knew what they ment?

When I was growing up my grand parents were strict about how bad it is for kids to swear so litterally I never sword when I was little, even when I was by myself. I think I first started cussing like a sailor when I was about 13, and I think the incident that sparked that was when I was working in woodshop and I hit my thumb with a hammer and shouted "Damnit" really loud.

Well, the firts time I sweared and KNEW what it meant was probably 4th, maybe even 3rd grade. It doesn't take long for little kids these days. But I don't do it so much. Either it will come out accidentally, if I stub my toe or something, or maybe if I'm really, really mad. I try not to make it a habit, and just use other, strange words in place of them.

Probably when I was 4 or 5, but I thought them as evil and never used them until I was about 14.

probably around 3rd grade or so... although i didn't use them in front of any adults. It was around the age of 12 or 13 that i started telling my mother to "F*** off!" I did that for a few years but i have since stopped. I swear semi often, but I do my best to refrain from being malicious or rude to people. In other words, i don't tell people to "F*** off" anymore.

Mommy didn't say bad words but Daddy did all the time and it made me sad.

I don't remember when I started swearing. I don't really swear often, and it's usually just at Ashley when I do. No big whoop.

Learned fairly early on what most of the words meant, probably because I was so into movies growing up and heard just about everything.

Still don't swear very often, and sometimes make a point to find other words to use in there place.

Take care all.

My parents/friends/relatives all swear, so I became accustomed to it at a fairly early age. I went through a expletive using phase when I first moved out of home, but thankfully I've curbed it nicely, and now only use nice, ladylike language.

I knew a couple of words at age 8 or so, but didn't learn any of the particularly 'bad' stuff for a few years after that. I don't swear often in everyday life, but when disaster strikes I become a fountain of expletive rage. Hooray.

In Kindergarten and in grade one, a kid I knew liked calling people the fuller version of a-hole, but I had no idea what it meant at the time. I guess that's my first swearing experience, but I've heard that when I was around five, I called my cousin's friend an f-ing b-ch. The funny thing is, we were all on a bus at the time, and I'm told I was running up and down the bus yelling "F-ING B-CH! F-ING B-CH!"

A few years ago, I met the bus driver of the time that happened, and he laughed when he saw me.

I started swearing way too young, and guess I always knew what it meant. They should invent some sort of swear-filter in real life too.

Highschool. I didn't find a need to swear up until then. Note that highschool is when I started playing golf more often and started to find out how short of a fuse I had. :)

I LIKE SWORDS! SHINY SWORDS!

"Gay" is a kinda swear word to kids, and this is an absolutely great quote from me aged 7, when someone asked what it meant and I had no idea: "Gay means you're really thick and stupid"

I guess the 7 year old me would think of you all as gay

In my family we've always talked very freely about sex, problems and such... So therefore, some swearing has also been included a little. It has never been a problem, though. Although there is a small amount of swearing going on in my home, and naturally in school (Not in front of teachers and adults though! :)) I've managed not to swear all the time. As I see it, people generally swear, at least in Denmark, and therefore it's kinda impossible not to hear the words and start to use them yourself. I don't know exactly when I started to swear, I guess I started to use some swearing when I was around 9 or so... With all this in mind, I still think that kids who swear is a bit too much. It sounds desrespectfull and naughty (Not in the porn kind of way! :P) and I don't like it. Maybe it's double standards, but that's jus my opinion.

Fourth grade I started cussing like a salior. Then one day I saw some white trash kids cussing more then I did. I figured that I was makeing myself look like them so I stoped doing it.

I cuss every now and then. Shit and damn is all I say.

As soon as I started school, I was educated in the field of swearing.

Of course, I didn't swear like the rest of the "Cool Kids". It just made me laugh.

When I started swearing was when I was 12, just to be cool. But then I stopped, because I found out that what I saw as the "cool" people usually ends up in detention. So I was thinking 'What in the world?' So I stopped swearing! Though I did somtimes say a couple of "damn's" but, that was it, so nothing serious!:P

I think i only started saying swears when I was around 7-and only when I was alone and angry. Now I still dont do it very often-and when I do people tend to just stare at me. :p

My sister though started to swear very soon after she learned how to talk-my father+football season+favorite team losing and making stupid plays= bad infulence on little children and their vocabulary.

Swearing is a natural part of my vocabulary, I use F on average once every two sentences and sometimes more, the other words are only used if they can better replace F, which is not too often.

I've never really been much of a swearer, until I went off to college. Now every other word is lewd.

I asked my dad what the f-word meant in second grade, and he said not to say it. I didn't.

Good topic. *stamp of approval*

I use to say f**k instead of truck when I was really little, and then I didn't swear pretty much at all until, my mom decided I was old enough and she stopped watching her mouth. So I picked it up from her and now I have a bad case of potty mouth, but i'm trying to stop swearing cause it's getting bad.

Your dad is nice, when I asked he took a belt to me and then told me not to say it. I do

Umm, I think like around 3rd or 4th grade. I'm pretty sure it was 3rd grade 'cause that's when I met one of my best friends and she pretty much taught me everything then. Ah, memories. x)
