what's the greatest time you can save on a playstation memory card (one slot)? i heard its 99:59:59, is this true? what about the playstation 2 memory card?

You can save however long the programmers programed the game to allow you to save. If that number is 3 trillion hours then so be it.

I never really spend over 30 hours on a game so I can't say I've witnessed the 99:99:59.

I'd say the most time I've spent on an RPG was probably Xenogears at around 45 hours or Wild Arms at 40 hours.

I do have saves that go well over 100 hours on Gamecube and Xbox. Those are Phantasy Star Online saves. I can't say I've seen a game that records over 99 hours on the playstation though. But that's dependant on the game.

The most I have... or had... was on FFVII. I had a good 75 hours worth of gameplay from doing everything except beating the Emerald and Ruby weapons. Oh, and getting the gold chocobo was something I didn't get.

I don't believe the time has any/much bearing on the file size, so you could have fifty gazillion hours on a memory card, and it really wouldn't impact, other than general wear and tear.
