Nation: Desierto
Government: Monarchy
Leader: High King Escobar
Capital: Ohne Wasser
Religion: Polytheistic. The people of Desierto belive in several gods who control different aspects of the land.
Jawa is the king of the gods and is worshiped all over the land.
Entrance: All people are allowed into Desierto but be warned the people here are not friendly to starngers.
The people: The people of Desierto are somewhat nomads except those who live in the capital city of Ohne Wasser (meaning without water). The people dress and look much like that of a sand person form Star Wars, since much of the land is desert.

Is "Jawa-ese" the official language? That could make for some very tough conversations between other nations.
Take care all.

I actually just found a site that has a dictionary of Jawaese. These sand people will speak the common language of the world. They just dress/look like sand people. But are more diplomatic then the Tusken Raiders are.

So are the people mostly Ingmarians, the race most suitable for deserts, that are dressed like that? I like that. Good flag. *nod* Now set up where the capital is located.

Yeah they can be Ingmarians. I think this is the region I'm in.
EDIT: there fixed it :p

I'LL BE FRIENDS WITH YOU BERTIE!
I have no reason to want to invade Desierto :D
escobert
08-12-2004, 11:10 PM
yay! :D I kow who the hell would want to invade a desert of roaming crazy people with sticks!?
No why?
It's full of ideas. Like, what do you find in the deep desert? HUGE FRIKKING SPACE WORMS. :D And what ELSE do you get in the desert? A very valuable drug that helps space-navigators.
Eizon version:
Smaller worms, maybe just two men's heigh thick.
The Spice of Desierto helps people see the stars, even when it's day. For navigation and astronomy y'see. Which leads to point three.
Huge astrological building! Like towers. Or stairs, like in Babylon.
Oh, and the people live in caves, cities built within the rock. :D
Here are just a few of the great ideas in Dune.
It will make the women go crazy, believe me.

Industry: There is little industry in this desert region but, the few mountains in the north do hold some mineral value. Large mining operation travel via caravan from Ohne Wasser to the cliffs.
Also we will have a large spice source. So if you want your spices for almost nothing start posting in here.
Greetings High King Escobar,
I come from the city of Emirano in the land of Fiorenseo, a progressive country in the north-eastern continent of Verdantia; home to the world-renowned Metareason Academy and the historic landmarks Vedriet Peak and Sacersanct Peak. I hope this letter finds you and your citizens in good physical and social health.
I write to you today in the hopes of starting a golden era of international relations between Fiorenseo and Desierto. Prime Minister Yebus t'Emirano and myself agree wholeheartedly on opening and maintaining diplomatic relationships with all the peoples and countries of Eizon. We hope you feel as we do and reach out to us as we reach out to you.
There will be many practical aspects to maintaining good diplomatic relations with Fiorenseo. Aside from being able to conduct international trade with reduced tariffs, citizens from your country will face easier laws concerning immigration and emigration from our lands. In addition, we invite your people to come study at our renowned Metareason Academy, led by our Minister of Knowledge N, home to some of the brightest minds young and old in Eizon.
We look forward to hearing a positive response from you soon.
We look forward to embracing a new era alongside your people.
We look forward to being your friends.
Sincerely,
Teh Neel
Minister of Foreign Affairs
Emirano, Fiorenseo
Bert, we can have drunken paintball Olympics if you agree. DO IT! :p

Taxes: As long as you don't live in a port you are free of taxes. In the ports you will need to pay 1.5% of your income.
Laws: In the ports there is no stealing and try not to kill too many people.
Outside of port again means no laws.

Okay, this has been approved of provided that a local leader is provided for the distant nation of Desierto. Can you please advise of who this will be and what their name/title will be in the Nation Leaders thread.
Jebus

Bert has offered to be the regional leader. I'm assuming he will be keeping his original name, and I think Governor would be an appropriate title for him.

Sounds good. Will I need to enforce any new laws taxes and such?
Jebus
10-13-2004, 07:17 PM
Course not. Unless your country didn't have taxes in the first place. If that's the case, then yes.

Dunno if you would like this to be changed.
Jebus
10-13-2004, 10:21 PM
Would be hard to inforce in a desert, eh.
Well, you can keep your laws, if you want any changes you should bring them up in parliament.

I am an ignorent fool, as Carnage said... and why would you subscribe to every country? that is plain stupid
Trumpet Thief
12-03-2004, 01:37 AM
chaos: *sigh again* You are not an ignorant fool, and, also, subscribed to "threads" not nations. For one, I had to post in threads for alliances, updates in Eizon, and for Overseer related things. Maybe that's why...
Rubedo: And I highly doubt that is stupid.
