View Full Version : A strange question from out of the blue

I was wondering what you would do if you were put into a room that had one switch that was comepletely accesable to you and you were locked in. Then, the room would become so cold that it would only be colder if every drop of liquid in your body was frozen. If you press the switch, it becomes so hot that it would only be hotter if your blood was as hot as lava. So what would you choose? (I know this would never happen. So what?)

I wouldn't press the switch at all. Then everything would be just fine. :p

So essentially; freeze to death or burn to death.

I'd rather freeze. At least then my body would become numb and it wouldnt hurt. Not to mention that I hate hate hate extreme heat.

Read again, pod. If you dont press the switch you freeze.

It becomes cold once the door is securely locked.

Cold. It has to be cold.

well, i think i would periodically flip the switch every now and then, to keep the room at least somewhat temprate. and if my body temperature was too cold, id heat myself up until i was too hot, then go back to cold, repeat until i somehow get out of the room.

Boiling would be painful beyond imagination. Freezing is actually a pretty good way to go.

I hate the cold with a passion, but death by heat would suck, so I'll go cold.

Frozen because then I can be microwaved later on in life, much like curry. Frozen curry, that is.

Either way I'd be dead, so I would rather freeze because I hear that after a certain point, it's just like going to sleep...unlike boiling to death.

Freezing sounds less painful, so I'd go with the cold.

I'd go with cold, since it sounds a lot less painful, and because my body would be encased in ice, which is a lot cooler (ba-doom tish!) than being burnt to a crisp.

I love it cold, I have my AC running almost non stop. The temperature in my room always stays below 50 degrees.

FREEZE!

Burning makes you smell bad. :-)

Turn the switch on and off to keep the balance in temperature.
I'm surprised that you're the only person that thought of that.

If we couldn't do that, then I'd choose the cold. Cryogenic sleep > burning/melting/perspiring.

I wouldn't get locked in this dumb room in the first place. If I did, I'd break out James Bond like. I refuse to answer this question based on my James Bond-itude. So what then?

Turn the switch on and off to keep the balance in temperature.
How long do you think that you would be able to keep that up for? :)

Cold, as I'm less sensitive to cold than most people. But more sensitive to heat.

Besides, you can warm yourself up when you're cold (JUMP UP AND DOWN!) a lot easier than you can cool yourself down when you're hot. Of course, I know all about being hot

i HATE the heat >_< i say that it is easy to get warm, but it's almost impossible to cool off. besides, i love the feeling of having a huge blanket wrapped around me. heat = sweat and sweat = smell...smell=bad. and the heat is sooo uncomfortable, in my opinion..
