Theres no specific place, and it also depends what kind of lvling you want.

For exp might wanna try

1-10: Newb zones

10-14: Shakrami Maze- Worms

10-20 Valkurm Dunes/Buburimu Peninsula- Mandragora/Hare/Lizards, Bird/Crab/Flies/Dhamel, Pugil/Goblin.

14-18 Korrokla Tunnel- Worms

18-23 Sauromange Champainge- Beetles

18-23 Battilia Downs- Birds

18-25 Qufim Island- Worms, Crabs, Pugils/Skeletons

23-27 Yutungha Jungle- Mandragora, Goblin

25-27 Battilia Downs- Tigers/Orcs/Goblin

27-30 Yhoator Jungle- Mandragora

27-30 Rolanberry Fields- Goblin/Quadavs

That should take you all the way up to lvl 30 O.o

This is how I've levelled so far as a level 30 whm.

As Lionx said, and is universal by lack of choice, my first 10 levels were in the newb zone, in my case Sarutabaruta. While standard advise is to solo these levels, I had my best progress in pairs or groups of 3-4. When I soloed, a stray yagudo often meant my death. One of my best memories was when my very first party (and nostalgically, my favorite), annhilated an entire yagudo camp (3 of them!).

From 10 and up, I didn't know about the wonders of worm soloing, so I instead joined Dhalmel hunting parties in Terongi. My first true party that set up camp and pulled, rather than the nomadic group explorations of the newb areas, was in these parties. I actually disliked them at first. I didn't understand the concept of party leader, as I had never had a true party. When who I thought to be just another member started telling me where to stand, and what to do, I took offense. Going from a group of equals to a group with a defined heirarchy was a culture shock to me.

When other parties had moved across the sea to Valkurm, I, having privy to EoFF and Gamefaqs, and having read in advance the "Horrors of the noobs (a noob was apparently everyone but oneself, I gathered)" in Valkurm, I partied in Buburimu. Levelling was slow, but the parties were all in all, quite good. I only gained my 19 and 20 levels in Valkurm.

I levelled 20-25 in record time (two nights), in two magnificent parties in Qufim. Both parties were led by Dragoons. Let me tell you, on a side note, to disregard any anti-dragoon rhetoric you may read online. I've never had more efficient parties than these. Dragoons are welcome in any party of mine. I can't understand the flack they take on most message boards.

I hate Yuhtunga and Yhoater, but I level there anyway. I can't figure out the maps. I need an escort to wherever the camp is. I can't even get to Yhoater on my own. The places are confusing beyond belief. That said, mandragoras are the easiest exp you'll ever get. If your party doesn't have experience in the area, tell them to stay away from both the zones, and the most direct routes to a zone. Gob trains are a fact of life there, and gaming is never fun if you leave a party with less exp than you entered with. I got to level 30 from level 27 all in one day in Yhoater. It was a 15 hour exp marathon. This is as far as I've progressed, as I'm level 30 now.

Ima just stray off topic for one min about the DRG thing.

DRGs are excellent from lvls 1-60ish about. The problem with DRGs is that they have limited abilities, and that doesnt make em stand out. It makes them a subpar WAR. While the ability to destroy hate is nice, its not like they ever do enough dmg to get enough. Around lvl 60, EVERY melee gets one super WS that does alot of dmg. It always does at least 500 dmg+ always. While the DRG get the whopping Wheeling Thrust for a measly 200-300. Subpar, and most will think a waste of PT space. They also cannot close renkei's well, as their most powerful WS, is the first one: Double Thrust. Although they can Close Renkeis, WHY!? The point is that closing the renkei will generate the SC dmg, so why let a DRG with its 200-300 dmg do it when a DRK can easily go to 800-1000 a WS and can close it for Dark SC? Wyvern also dies too much and doesnt really help majorly enough, spirit link helped, but if a AE attk one shots it, there goes your two hour. Also many ppl lvl on Bones at those lvls, if a DRG uses a lance or polearm, its an automatic 50% reduction dmg. Even their B+ Staff skill hurts more than their Lance. Its that big a hit. So they are cut off from a major exp source ppl go to.

Not to say DRG sucks, there are good DRGs, a DRG/WHM at high lvls can solo better than a RDM. Also good SATA partners and setting up Distortion Renkeis. But in the end, although i wouldnt say DRGs suck, they definetly need more.
