How did you name your characters? I used the default names.

I gave them stupid names. Like cloud was Mr. Lee, Barette was Puff Daddy, Caitsith was jiggly puff I can't remember what the other names were. Oh yeah! Cid was crackhead and aeris was Jailbait.

The only funny thing I can think to do with the names is to name Red XIII Nanaki. When you go to Rocket Town, and you have Red XIII in your party, he will introduce himself to Shera (that's her name right?). He will say, "I'm Red XIII, also know as Nanaki." But if you name him differently, he will say "I'm Nanaki, also known as Nanaki." Not the most humorous thing in the world, but it's all I got.

I choose FFVII:
Cloud = Jolts
Barret = Pyreece
Tifa = Cristy
Aeris = Holli (pronounce "Holly")
Red XIII = Kosmo
Cait Sith = Pondero
Cid = Zefear
Yuffie = Soke
Vincent = Venim

Now for the reasons:
Jolts - It's me :D. My favorite elemental is electricity, so I use "Jolts" for the lightning elemental.
Pyreece - From from the word "pyre" (Latin, I think) meaning "fire." Used for the fire elemental.
Cristy - From "crystal." Used for the ice elemental.
Holli - From "holy." Used for curing.
Kosmo - From "cosmos." Used for the earth elemental.
Pondero - From "ponderous" meaning "heavy." Used for the gravity elemental.
Zefear - From "zephyr" meaning "wind." Used for the wind elemental.
Soke - Rhymes with "soak." Used for the water elemental.
Venim - If you couldn't figure out I got that from "venom," then you should be slapped :lol:. Used for the poison elemental and status effects.

I copied this out of my thread of the exact same thing, only not limited to just FFVII (it's somewhere in the General Final Fantasy section...only one person replied).

I named everybody their default names, except Tifa, who I named "Misty" so my brother wouldnt steal my file from my memory card

I sometimes name them some cuss word like Yuffie=dumba** and Cait Sith=cat sh** and so forth. :)
But when I'm being serious I use default on all of them except Tifa who I named Brandy.

The first time I play through, I just leave them as the default names. But when I played the game over again, Red was either "Tigger" or "Red IXXVIV" and Cait Sith was "Uglything" and...something else. :mog: Then I named Aeris Aerith, for some reason. I don't particularly like it or hate it. ANd, of course, Barret will, and always be "Mr.T."

uhh... well, i always kept the default names, but i think i renamed my characters once

cloud = cumulus (i don't know)
aerith = danny (after my friend, so i could get back at him for naming the frog in chrono trigger after me)
tifa = (don't remember... i think it was "the slut" or something)
barret = mr. t (well, DUH)
red xiii = charmander (i think it was charmandr in the game, since i couldn't fit every letter... and what? he reminds me of that charmander pokemon. i watched that show many years ago, and i can only remember the names of like two pokemon)
cait sith = fluffy
yuffie = (don't remember)
vincent = viiincent (my friend refers to him as viiiiiiiiincent, which always cracks me up)
cid = blondie (well, there's a bunch of different cids, so i refer to him as blondie, or the blonde one)

Then if I want to keep the names, I only change Red XIII so it's just 'Red', and I change Aeris to Aerith.

I've called my characters lots of things...
I called Aerith 'My balls', once, because it seemed funny when somebody was talking about it.

Last time I played the game, they were all named after swear words, exept from Barret, who was Mr.T, and Red, who was Homer.
