All I can remember is that his first name was Oran, and I might even be mixing this up with the creator of FFVIII's card game (in-game). As soon as I figure out the details again, I'll let you know (unless somebody else already does it before I can).

The cards originated when a psychic named Orlan modified these tarot cards for games.
The game became popular with soldiers passing time between battles.
As its popularity spread, each region developed its own rules and picture variations.
So you see, I did have it mixed up with FFVIII, and it wasn't Oran, it was Orlan. Now that that's all straightened out, it's Giga Guess's turn, since he was the first to post after my previous post.

By the way, it also showed a picture that had a bunch of characters that looked like FFT jobs with a person that looked remarkably like Olan...

Not random. Fought on a red dot (there's one scheduled fight on a blue dot, so that's one exception, that's why I said "not random").

Oh, and the ones that force you to fight three to five times in a row don't count as one. Count each fight separately.

Trine is missable if you don't get it in Great Glacier and/or if you beat Godo before getting the fourth, and final E. Skill materia.
Pandora's Box is used by Dragon Zombie only once in the entire game, so if you don't learn it that one time, then you never will (and you can double up E. Skills to one character for them to both recieve it).
