Search Criteria

Is there any way to change the conditions on the search criteria so that we can search on words smaller than four characters? I understand one or two characters, but there are a lot of three character words out there and being able to search for them would be nice.

We'll have to temporarily take the forums down as the search index rebuilds itself then if you want that :monster:

Apparently the limits are between 3 and 15 characters in the CP though, so I don't know what gives, other than taking the forums down to rebuild the search index from scratch :monster:

Although I think temporarily closing the place is just to be on the safe side, I can't see it being a huge problem if the index rebuilds while it's still open :p

Okay, that's just scary, I could have sworrn that I searched with a three-letter word and it told me that it was too small. Oh well. Yeah, I don't want the place to shut down just for a two-letter search index or such to be built.

be sure to surround your query with asterisks and check the case.

Rebuilding the search index takes quite a few hours if I remember correctly. I don't think we want to do that.
