Is It Just Me Or Should Have Tidus Been The Cameo For The Ps2 Version Of Soul Calibur 2 ! That Would Have Rocked And Would Have Made Me Bought The Game!

1) Namco and Square, to my knowledge, don't have any relationship in particular to speak of. Namco would need Square's permission (as they did to use Link and Spawn) to put Tidus in. Besides, the cameo needs to be fairly well known. Namco was right to use Heihachi for PS2 since he's already from Tekken. Generally, most people who have played SC would have played Tekken.

2) Tidus is a n00b. The characters in Soul Calibur 2 are all rightfully claiming possession of that ultimate sword known as Soul Edge. The swordmasters of SC2 0wn n00bs like Tidus. The first time Tidus ever picked up a sword was at the beginning of his adventure. Even 3-year old Astaroth has more battle experience than Tidus.

3) Wouldn't make sense for Tidus to be rung out on the pirate ship stage since he can swim :p

4) Get rid of Heihachi?! NEVER!!

5) Tidus getting corrupted and turning evil through Soul Edge, though hilarious, sounds stupid. :)

I gotta say I thought Heihachi was a terrible choice for the extra character, I mean.... he's already IN a fighting game. Not only that he's in a fighting game with a load of other characters that people might prefer. Hell they coulda tried to get a license from Anna Kournikova again and had her use a tennis racket, heh that woulda been wierd...
Tidus would make a pretty good character, he's fast so he'd probably be more fun than say Cloud, who would admittedly be a much cooler addition.

Anyways, back on topic. I agree that Tidus isn't well-known enough to be in those games. He's only, what, 3 years old. Plus he's much more of a wimp than the people that are in that game. So he doesn't exactly belong.

Nope your all wrong. The best Xtra character in SC2 woulda been the all mighty Emperor Kefka! :D

He would have been perfect for even turning XTRA evil! That woulda been so cool!

Tidus is known enough to be in SC 2. FFX, sadly, sold quite a lot, on its secret release date. He's just too much of a pansy to step up to any of the SC fighters. I'm also pretty sure a good portion of SC fans would be pissed at seeing someone like Tidus in SC 2. It's about toughness, guts, and whatnot. The characters from Soul Calibur have quotes that would make Tidus pee his pants, throw them out, then pee on them again. I can see Tidus' entrance and victory quotes now:
Entrance: Aaaaaron! My dad hates me! WAH.
Victory: HA. HA. HA. HA. HA.
