Final Fantasy music -no more, no less!

:mog: Well, I must admit that Nobuo Uematsu is one of my greatest heros ever, so this thread is mostly dedicated to him. For a long time I have wondered what do other FinalFantasy-addicts think about the series music. Soooo... :mog:

The idea is very simple:

1. Your overall opinion of the FF music (good/bad/etc.)

2. The game with the best soundtrack (I/II/III/etc.)

3. The best FF song (name of the song, the game)

+ if you like some specific type of music
(boss music/world map music/etc.)

My own for example:

1. Love FF music from the bottom of my heart!

2. FF VI

3. Kefkas theme, FFVI

+ The final battle songs are always as eaqually exhausting
-some even true masterpieces :D

my fav ff soundtrack is ffx, ffix and ffvii
i really like emotional tracks such as the theme songs and the often female lead themes

ffII pandemonium music
ffIV Golbez theme (just beats the second boss music)
ffV X-Death theme
ffVI- Kefka orchestra (all 4 movements)
ffVII- Aeris theme(just beats One Winged Angel)
ffVIII- Legendary beast (just beats the sorcerress special boss music)
ffIX -Trance Kuja theme- Dark messenger (just beats your not alone and necron's theme)
ffX- Challenge (just beats the normal boss music)

boss music is almost always the best in the game. :cool:

I'd say it depends of the game. Most of the soundtracks are awesome, but there are a few tracks here and there that I just can't stand.

I'm partial to FFVI and FFIX.

I just can't decide, there are too many. But for each game...

FFI - The World Map's Theme (hey, I like it, so sue me)
FFII - The Rebels Army's Theme
FFIII - The Invincible's Theme
FFIV - Prologue
FFV - Clash on the Grand Bridge (Battle with Gilgamesh)
FFVI - The overwold version of Terra's Theme.
FFVII - Wutai's Ruins
FFVIII - The Man with the Machine Gun
FFIX - Arg. Tough choice. I'll go with Loss of Me.
FFX - To Zanarkand

+ Most of the time, my favourite tracks are character themes, but it's not limited to those. As you can see from the list above, it depends on the game.

1. I'm a big fan of the FF series' music. There are plenty of classic tunes throughout the series, and they play an understated role in making a Final Fantasy what it is.

2. My favourite soundtrack has to be FFIX. Other games have half a dozen standout tunes. FFIX has those by the bucketload. Jesters of The Moon, Kuja leaves Burmecia, Loss of Me, and Vamo alla Flamenco are just a few of the musical treats that you'll hear during the game.

3. The best FF tune ever? Funnily enough for a series with such a superb score, it's not even a close call: Dark Messenger (FFIX) wins hands down. It's absolutely perfect in every way.

3 - Forever Rachel (FF6) is my favourite song, but I have to mention some other great songs too:

Ahhhh umm.. I can't really pick one. Melodies of Life or 1000 Words maybe. I have lots of favourites. Sleepless City Treno too. Annnd Waltz for the Moon. Agggh! >_<

I just like all the sort of town music from FFIX, and the vocal songs from any of them.

I always end up liking all the differant battle, boss, final boss tracks, etc

The majority of it is formula and somewhat bland. But the intro/ending/main themes are often really good.

1 ] - Always high quality and it has that special way of reaching your soul.

2 ] - Hard to choose, but FF7.

3 ] - Sound of the Wind/ Kazenone (Japanese version). Final Fantasy: Crystal Chronicles.

There's a whole lot of them, but: Aeris' Theme FFVII , World Map Theme FFIIj, Prologue FFI, World Map FFVI, FFVIII Julia's Piano, Melodies of Life FFIX....and so on.

1. I think Final Fantasy is one of those series that is constantly offering great soundtracks.

2. My favorite soundtrack? FFIX, no question.

3. My favorite song is either Immoral Melody or A Face Not Forgotten/Freya's Theme.
