Character's voices?

Since it's gonna be a movie we're gonna hear character's voices right?Do you know something more about it?I mean if they're gonna be famous Hollywood actors for example?

I remember hearing from my sister that Cloud's voice is going to be that insane cat from Azamanga Daihoh. She's really excited about seeing the movie, so she tells me almost everything she finds out. I do also recall her telling me some of the others, but thanks to my swiss cheese memory, I can't remember them.

The likelyhood of them getting high-profile American actors is very very low. The reason KH had them was due to Disney's influence. If they dub AC, it'll be standard-fare American voice actors, like any anime or video game.

I dunno about the Japanese ones, but considering the high influence Square seems to have in Japan and the high value they place on their seiyuu (voice actors), it'll probably be some really good ones.

i,ll be definitly listerning to the japanese voices first. and i really hope they have sum decent actors do the dub. i,d hate any silly hollywood ppl 2 come along, i was horrified with what they did 2 Princess Monokoke. then again Spirited away was very good, so...

Yeah, but that doesn't mean the English dubbing will suck. The voice acting of FFX-2 English was great, so why can't FF7 AC English have good acting too? I hope they'll get people like Steve Burton, Mandy Moore, Christy Carlson Romano and the like for FF7 AC just for the sake of "consistency". They were used in KH, after all.

I hope FF7 AC will contain several language packages so that I can try both Japanese and English voices. :)

ughh, please no KH voice actors. i,d prefer the dub 2 be done by the Bebop, evangelion, ghost in the shell etc ppl. if i discover its like KH i,ll be thanking the lucky stars 4 the sub. and it definitly WILL have sub because all decent Anime releases have them nowdays.

Bebop and Evangelion had pretty plain dubbing in my opinion. But I've only watched a fraction of both...

Anyway, I thought KH had great dubbing, as far as games go. But remember that the quality of the dub rarely depends on the voice actors but rather how easily they can synch the lips. With anime's, the characters mouths often just open and close regardless or what kind of sound they're supposed to be pronouncing but in games, particularly Square-attention-to-detail type games, the mouth can clearly be seen making different sounds, that is, the mouth stretching out for "De" sounds, a bit of tongue action for "L" etc.

Even so, I expect the dubbing in AC to be acceptable, since the movie does seem like it's going to be mostly action which means the voice actors will be making those "fighting sounds" more rather than actually speaking.

Never said it would. All I said was it wont be super big actors, because Square doesnt have that kind of pull in this country.

The KH actors voices worked because they were suited for the Animation style. Like, Yuffie had a good voice for the bouncy cartoon yuffie. a gritty yuffie in warfare probably couldn't sound so bubbly. Though the guy that did cloud was good, and would probably work for AC style animation. so help me god if lance does Seph though. so help me god, i'll kill him, and them, and all those who saw the contract and did not burn it. so help me....

I don't know who'd I'd like to see play them. I would like to have Mandy Moore play Aeris again, though; her voice was perfect for her, imo. Yuffie as well. I'm not sure about Steve Burton though. He does have that depressing sort of sound that works---if they use him again, I wouldn't complain.

For everyone else, though, I'd rather they get "unknowns". Although Barret can be the exception---I wish they'd get Mr.T to play him. :p

Anyone played The Bouncer? That's a quality dubbing right there. If Square can get those voice actors, that would be a-okay in my books. Especially that guy who did Dauragon's voice...Wha? Cloud's not british? Dang.

Bear in mind that all of Hayao Miyazaki's work has been purchased in it's original form by Disney, so they can afford to hire good voice actors.

The dude who did spike spiegal in Cowboy bebop should do SOMEONE in AC, any1 I dont care who...he meh fav. english voices for anime.

Yeah, the guy who does Spike's voice is awesome. He did Shishio in Rurouni Kenshin too, and sounded incredible...evil and cool at the same time. I liked the guy who did Cloud's voice in Kingdom Hearts....he seemed somewhat quiet, but still scratchy and menacing...sort of what I pictured for him. The Japanese voice actors will probably be better though. Ever seen FF:U? Worst. American voices. Ever. :cry:

spike's english actor is amazing. so i,m surprised he has been in sum mediocre anime. he appears in digimon, and is the main guy in Big O.

he also had a minor role in streetfighter II, played a reall creepy guy in GUYVER, and even played Shin in the FIST OF THE NORTH STAR SERIS. he was one of the guys from Bouncer 2 right?

he really needs 2 get into more genius Anime other then Kenshin and Bebop.

Voice actors dont choose their jobs based on how good the anime is. They probably havent even watched most of what they're in, outside of the studio. I'd rather he get into more profitable anime the things I think are good. I dont watch dubs anyway, so the point is moot I guess.

He did do an amazingly excellent job. But anime isnt really like movies, where you move up and get in 'bigger' things depending on your skills. It's more just go-where-you-can voice acting, whoever hires you hires you. And to distributors, 'quality anime' is anime that sells well. To them, Pokemon is serious quality because of the sheer moneymaking it does.

he is so cool. i saw him on the bebop movie dvd. He reminds me of my fav Poker player, the Devil fish (from UK).

He was commenting on how Bebop represented the piniacle of his VA work. You could tell Bebop was sumthin he liked...something i suspect is rare with many other english dub voice actors.

in all the other stuff he has done his VA ability does not seem too great. but in Bebop he is incrediable. Maybe he really tried for Bebop. I hope they use him for any Bebop prequals.

According to Eyes on FF, the Japanese voice actor playing Cloud is Takahiro Sakurai. He did Cloud's voice for Kingdom Hearts, as well as playing Sion Barzhad in The Bouncer. He's also been in a lot of anime, but most of it seems to be pretty crappy stuff...Digimon, etc. On a good note (in my opinion) perhaps this means Square will get the Amerian voice actor of Cloud from Kingdom Hearts for the English dub...

I think Cloud's voice in KH was great, but I wouldn't mind if they got someone else to do it. I think they should get Antonio Banderas (Mask Of Zorro, Puss In Boots - Shrek 2) to do the voice for Red XIII. I've always imagined him as being spanish...:D

I always imagined Red with a British accent, mainly because of the scene where you meet him. can think of a suitable British actor right now though.

In responce to the Ben Affleck playing Cloud... I would take that ONLY as a rumor. The English version cast is still under wraps meaning that the only way you could get the casting list, you would have to be working for Square.

It's really hard to imagine these characters from FFVII to have voices. Maybe it is just because the game came out so long ago, that the technology for something like this or similar (i.e. FFX) wasn't even comprahensable on an RPG. Or at least, not for me.

I always thought of Cid to have some hard-arse texan accent and for Red XIII and Barret to have rough voices. That's all, and it was mainly just because of their script in FFVII.

I'm sure they will do a good job with this, though.

yeah there's that....hmm....i can almost imagein vincent with auron's tone maybe a little lighter and blanker...and sephiroth's voice deep and cold sorta' like sesshomaru's (inuyasha) and cloud's somewhat laid back yet somewhat tense at times. can you agree with me on this?
