They've never had a huge problem being explicit about sex in FF games (dirty magazine, FFIV, the child born out of wedlock in FFVI, the honeybee inn...), so I don't see why they wouldn't have shown more than Cloud and Tifa sitting together. But they didn't actually open up and say what they felt... it was always obvious that Tifa cared for him, but it's less certain whether Cloud's fondness for Tifa was of the same type. He cared about her, certainly, but it's uncertain whether it was love. It's possibel that Aeris had completely captured his heart. But either way, I don't think they'd be the two to rush into things so quickly. They're both very sensitive, cautious individuals who keep their emotions inside as much as possible.

there feelings 4 eachother were always implied. and its fitting as Tifa had been flirting with Cloud all this time.Cloud could finally open up after Tifa unraveled his past in the life stream. so while i feel he was totally in love with Aeris, Aeris realised Tifa was right for Cloud, and in time Cloud too realised this, culmanating in that scene at the end of disc 2.

I'd like to think so. :p They're one of my favorite couples---I, too, love how everything is implied. Sometimes it's nice to have to use your imagination a bit, because it isn't all shoved right in our face.

IMO, after the whole lifetsream deal, Cloud and Tifa were an item. I know that's arguable, but that's the way I see it. Hell, I was 7 or 8 years old, watching my friend play, and I was convinced they were together. Everything he said during that part of the game just screamed "I love you Tifa", but without actually saying it.

Anyways, it's a beautiful scene, with or without the sex.

Haha, that was funny, Big D! :p Do you have dialogues for both scenes? I haven't seen any difference there myself. In my first game (FF7 PC version), Cloud dated Aeris. In my second game (FF7 PC), Cloud dated Tifa. And in my third game (FF7 PSX), Cloud dated Tifa again. Every time I've played the game, the scene at the end of Disc 2 has always had the same events and dialogues happening.

i interpreted that scene as they admit feelings to each other and end up cuddling and comforting each other. they needed each other if they were going to stop sephi and the meteor. at that point, they thought it would only be them two to challenge sephi.

true, first time i saw it i thought they got down and dirty, but i see it as they would probably wait until they saved the world. they had faith that they would see this to the end, and would want something to look forward to.

Okay okay, seriously. I've just finished my first playthrough of the game (sad I know, but I was a late bloomer with FF), and I just saw that scene for the first time today. I immediately assumed they got it on, because of the seriousness of the game and the circumstances surrounding that moment in the game. I didn't even think twice about it, it was like a given.

Of course I wasn't sure at first because they were just laying next to each other and stuff but once Tifa was all embarassed, then I was sure of it. The world is about to possibly end, little things like kissing and such are sure to be casually acceptable when you have the fate of the world on your shoulders.

They matured and became far more emotive, introspective, caring,responsible and level headed. they would not try to embaress Tifa more.

I don't recall any sex at all in FF4, but that's jsut me. And if you think about it, most of those other times when they were more explicit about sex, it was mostly lusty sex, with no real 'love' or emotion involved. Just plain sex for the hell of it. In this case, there was obviously alot of emotion going on, and i don't think square would tarnish that depth just so they could be explicit and open about them having sex.

And personally, I always though squall and rinoa got it on while they were in the ragnarok on disk three. Also, Cid and Hilda obviously had sex in ff9 and it wasn't all that 'explicit' same with tidus and yuna in FFX. That's my opinion on this whole thing.

They hadn't even given voice to their feelings for one another, and Yuna was still feeling very vulnerable and in need of support, since she was still convinced she had to die. Tidus, whatever people might think of him, wouldn't take advantage of a situation like that. I'm sure the kiss was as far as it went.
As for Rinoa... she admitted to being in love, and that she was still concerned about Seifer's welfare, but that, again, could be as far as it goes. On the Ragnarok, I'm sure nothing happened beyond what we saw, too. If it did, then their "first kiss" at the end would be meaningless. People don't usually have sex before admitting their feelings for each other, except in some sub-cultures of adolescents in today's society.

If these games were American, then it'd probably be different, because of the different cultural norms.

The whole point of the scene in the water was to showcase the culmination of their feelings from eachother, swimming together and sharing a first kiss. I dont think they'd fail to show or mention the first kiss, and then devote a long FMV scene to the second, third, or whatever kiss.
