I have been tihnking about getting this game for a while and I have somequestions before I buy it.

1) What server is everyone on?

2) How do I switch servers?

3) Is everything in game "world" reasonably priced?

4) Is it better to solo or group? (Im thinking thief)

5) Can people playing the computer version play with those using ps2 version?

6) What are the available methods of payment?

7) Can my computer handle it?
(see attachments)

If you need more information please ask me (telling me how to get the correct information would be cool too)

THANK YOU!

Edit: Just deleted around 30MB of old computer games and porn and defraged the muther, now have 238MB free

1) What server is everyone on?
Migardsormr

2) How do I switch servers?
You can someone from the server you want to go to, to get you a world pass... although you'd need to start you character again.

3) Is everything in game "world" reasonably priced?
It depends on the supply and the demand, although it can be tough to gain gil sometimes.

4) Is it better to solo or group? (Im thinking thief)
The first 12 levels are easy to solo, but after that you will need to party the rest of your levels, unless of course you are a BST.

5) Can people playing the computer version play with those using ps2 version?
Yes, everyone connects to the servers in Japan to play. PS2 and PC people play together. =)

6) What are the available methods of payment?
All I know is credit card, but I'm sure you can use a US debit card. Not too certain.

7) Can my computer handle it?
You need at LEAST 6GB space to be able to install it, that does not include the patches you need to download on start up, nor the expansion (which you probably don't need at this stage anyways).

Click here (http://www.playonline.com/ff11us/beginners/win/) for more insight to the specs you will need to run this game.
Edit: I just looked at your attachments, it didn't show anything about your computer that was relevent. >.< So I don't know.

I have 19GB free space, PWNAGE!

And those attachments told me EVERYTHING with the help of that site.

Well, everything but if I have a DirectX 8.1 compatable soundcard, I don't know If i do but everything else is minimum or better.

Hey hey hey, money shouldn't be tooooo much of a problem with a thief right? they can steal right? right? right? I should have like, a bunch of potions to sell or something right?

MORE QUESTIONS

8) Can the objects a thief steals be sold and therefore be better with buying stuff?

9) Is this FF anything like other FFs? Same types of items, weapons, monsters and such?

10) Whats this "food" thing I hear aboot? (omg aboot like cannadianz)

11) How does the pl thing work out? If I group with high levelers that are realy nice will I level up faster?

If you value your life, don't get this game.

I have spoken.

I need an MMORPG to play, do you know of any others I could play? (Dungeon Siege, Dark Age of Camelot excluded)

8) Can the objects a thief steals be sold and therefore be better with buying stuff?
Yes, steal spoils can be sold if they are not 'ex'. Don't expect to steal much in this game, most of the items usualy aren't worth anything at all (expecially at low levels).

9) Is this FF anything like other FFs? Same types of items, weapons, monsters and such?
There's chocobos, but aside from that maybe a couple of other things related to the other FF's. Don't buy this game if you think it's going to be like another FF game, because it's not.

10) Whats this "food" thing I hear aboot?
You use food or drinks to boost stats for a certain period of time. Different food and drinks boost different stats.

11) How does the pl thing work out? If I group with high levelers that are realy nice will I level up faster?
You won't gain any experience if you are low level player partying with a high level player. You should usualy keep withing a 2 level gap between everyone in your party to gain experiance.

Side notes.
You will want to upgrade your computer specs a bit. For instance the RAM and the Video Card... they are very out-dated and crappy. =) You might want to get some more HDD space, but 19GB's should be fine. I wouldn't worry about your sound card though, they all work the same when it all comes down to it.

If you value your life, don't get this game.
He means it in an MMORPG sense... they basically take over alot of your life, because all MMORPG's require time and effort to play. Some people like MMORPG's, some don't.

This is a perfectly good MMORPG. Square fanboys just get upset when there's a Final Fantasy released that doesn't have Cloud in it.

Everyone's on a different server. I'm on Ramuh.

You can create the same character over and over again until it puts you on the server you want to be on.

Things are priced based on how much people are willing to pay for them. The first time you see the prices for low level gear you'll cringe. Then when you find out how to make money, it won't seem as bad.

It's good to do a little of both, but going in groups is really where it's at. Soloing is lonely and chorish. Parties are a blast.

Everyone plays together.

You can pa with credit card, possibly debit card. I think there might be game cards (which are like phone cards) but I'm not positive.

You'll need a pretty decent rig to run it on PC. My PC's out of date, so I had to go with PS2. No regrets though.

ANY object can be sold. Even if you can't put it up for auction (which would be weird) you can offer to exchange it for gil with someone.

It's KINDA like FFI if FFI were a MMORPG. There's familiar spells and monsters, there's even chocobos and moogles, but don't expect it to be FFVII Online.

Food gives you nice little stat boosts, it doesn't last long though.

Here's how partying works. When you're in a party, you recieve EXP for any monster that anyone in the party kills. However, the EXP gets divided up. Also, you must be close to the party member who made the kill in order to get spoils. That being said, it's NOT a good idea to tag along with a party that's trying to kill monsters that are way too powerful for you. The reason for this is you'll probably get hit at some point and that'll be that. Also, you won't get all that much EXP from it, believe it or not.

I'll have to disagree with these statements. Not everything can be sold and / or exchanged to another player. If the item is a 'ex' type item (which it says on the description) you cannot sell it or exchange it at all, unless for a quest from an NPC. (i.e. Beastmen Seals -used for BCNM)

Also, alot of food lasts a long time, meat mithkabobs are brilliant and they do last awhile. I know there are a few drinks for mages that last 30 minutes too.

So what kind of cash are we talking about for more RAM?

Website Link Here (http://www.dealtime.com/xPP-Random_Access_Memory_(RAM))

Have a look there, I'd suggest getting a 512mb DDR ram stick, or if you want to be a bit more generous with the money, then get a 1gb DDR ram stick. You might want to look around other places too, but that's the general idea, and I'm pretty sure that site is US dollars.

Eh its always good to get more RAM, but you dont need that much, a minimal 128MB is the bare minimal. However i recommend at least 256...which is what i am using and its fine.

Rostum

Well you could probably shop around a bit and find some cheaper prices, but stick with DDR RAM. If it's still too expensive then just get 256mb RAM until you can afford more, it will still work.

I have 254, that good enough? its just 2 mb :P

Rostum

I'm talking about an extra 256mb (because RAM usual comes in 128, 256, 512 etc). So you will have 510mb RAM.
