Why doesn't someone fix it so that I can add a swag of people to my otherwise non existent 'buddy list' and then a week or so before their birthdays I'll get sent an email saying "DON'T FORGET OR ELSE YOU'LL HAVE NO FRIENDS YOU DOLT"?

Or you could just be a good friend and remember yourself.

Actually, it was pretty good when "today's birthdays" used to be shown at the top of the main page.

I'm not an admin and so have nothing to contribute, so I'll say that I think your problem is having too many friends. You should go through and eliminate some, it's good to do a cleansing like that every once and a while.

The LiveJournal b-day notification works fine for me. So does Yahoos.

The more excuses I have for forgetting people's birthdays, the better.

Just say you don't celebrate brithdays :D
If you had the good sense to register yourself as a Jedi on the last national census, you could probably explain it away on religious grounds. :D

I actually did that. I don't like Star Wars, but when I heard about it I thought it'd be funny

We're all going to die anyway. So what's the point of giving someone a fruitcake?

I did, and therefore will fool all of my friends with the infamous Jedi Mind Trick. Problem solved!
The force can only influence the weak-minded. If any of your friends are Jedi too (or worse, Sith) then you might have trouble. :p

I feel like I played some role in this.

I can't help but feel partly responsible for this.

well, I did just get an email reminding me that it's my birthday, but I don't know if that helps anyone else.
