I have to say, I gained a tremendous amount of respect for Jay Leno for doing this.

Take care all.

Well, to tell you the truth, I like Conan O'Brian better than Leno to begin with, and I really don't think that it's going to be too different...except the time slots. Other than that, it's probably going to be similar to Late Night With Conan O'Brian. I mean, sure there may be no more Max Weinburg and the MW Seven and there will be different writers, but Conan basically does the show with his own humor and throws in some things that Jay Leno doesn't. I think it will be fine, IMO.

But I did like Jay to an extent, and I am kinda sorry to hear it.

I've never liked Leno as much as Conan, so it's good for me. I just hope that they keep the crazy skits when Conan comes in, though there's still five years for us to find out.

I always liked Leno's show more than O'Brien's. But Conan has a better personality.

Leno's monologue is really the best in the business...but Conan has those hilarious skits(who can forget that infamous Comic the Insult Dog with those Star Wars fans?).

I don't care too much either way, since when I'm in school I never stay up late enough for either of them.

The thing I didn't like was out Conan O'Brien kept bitching about it. He's 41 years old for christ's sake, I wouldn't whine like that if I was half my age. A guy twice my age acts less mature than someone half my age. Unbelievable. It's not like Leno wasn't working behind Carson before he took the job.

Leno is a ratings machine, Conan is not. While Conan is more popular with the younger generation, the majority of the viewers like Leno more...but granted, he is on an earlier timeslot.

So it's good that conan will get the slot, but that's 5 years down the line, hopefully he won't turn as bad as David Letterman's show. Once these 12:35 slotters take an hour earlier, they usually never have the same show. Anyone will tell you Letterman was better when he was on after Johnny Carson.

>:O!!!!!!

>:O!!!!!

Max has to be on the show. They have such great chemistry.

*Conan says something*

*Max just stares*

:D?

First Andy, then Max. I'm going to cry.

They're not getting rid of Joel too, are they?

Word on the wire is that Max will come along with Conan. Besides, it's 5 years away, so I wouldn't be surprised if Joel comes as well because the current announcer may be retiring by then on the Tonight show.

I have to disagree with you Dingo on the Letterman bit. Leno has become too tame for my taste while Letterman is still the cranky SOB he's always been. There's a reason his show wins all the awards, and is beginning to catch up to Leno again.

Don't get me wrong, Jay Leno is probably one of the classiest guys out there, but watch any of his routine from the 1980's and you'll see that he's definitely lost his hard edge, which to me, is what made him so very funny.

The other rumor out there is that Jon Stewart will Conan's spot after the Tonight show, but I have really mixed opinions about that too.

Take care all.

I don't know what to think about this. Im not happy Leno is leaving, even if it is five years from now. He, in my opinion, is FAR superior to Conan, and the show just won't be the same with Conan there. Conan is funny, and I like his show, but he doesn't even compare to Leno.

Conan was always funnier so this will be for the better.

Conan O'Brien deserves it! He's a great host, and far funnier than Leno. His show is great! Hopefully he'll bring over some of the writers with him. They created some awesome characters over the course of Latenight...like Triumph. And Walker Texas Ranger? Genius! :D

I will have a fit.

Jon is not "late-nite" material. He's a political comedian. They don't do well on late-nite TV. Look at Bill Mahr. :rolleyes2

I'm happy, because I've always liked Conan more then Jay. However, 5 years is a ways away...

It's cool, but I like the Conan O'Brien Show as it is... so I'm a bit sad.

And they said on one of them TV programs that after the Tonight Show with Conan O'Brien they'll be putting on the Carson Daily show, which is what's currently on after Conan's show. Which sucks.

the Carson Daily show sucks! It probably won't even be around five more years. At least, I certainly hope not.

Of copurse not. Carson Daily will be working at McDonald's in five years. His career is basically in the crapper already.

Well, more so than it was before.

Yeah, I agree...The Daily Show (at least Jon Stewart's part) is not that funny...and I can't even imagine what the show would be like if he took it up. Probably be a show that I watch when I have insomnia, and need a cure.

If anything, they should get rid of Craig Kilborn. Jimmy Kimmel is okay...but he's trying to compete with Leno and Letterman, and when you compete with the two L's...you're bound to get a 3rd L, which is a loss. The JK show should die within this season.

Craig Kilborn show is the most awful latenight show ever, even worst than Carson Daly's. But Carson is on at 1:35, so I'm not too concerned about him.

That was my first thought too. They interviewed him and he was all excited, and I was just laughing to myself that he thought his show would last that long. It's so boring.

"Conan, it's yours. See you in five years, buddy."

Very classy of him :) I'm happy for Conan, but I'm really surprised that he's been so snippy about not having Leno's time slot.

Also, Jimmy Kimmel is a massive jackass.

Conan tries too hard to be goofy all the time. His show is pretty good but when he acts like a dork he overdoes it way too much. Doesn't matter though because I prefer Letterman to either of those guys, and I don't watch much late night TV anymore anyway. I hope Dave sticks around forever. He can find humor in anything.

I liked Kilborn the best but I don't think he's on anymore. His humor was dry and high brow, which you didn't see much of on TV these days.

That's because humor like that isn't funny. At least to the general public. You're the first to actually like Kilborn...the only one that I know of.

But yeah, Conan tries too hard sometimes...but he's the only one who can make it funny.

And thus another villain emerges from the shadows with one goal: Destroy Super Delete. :nonono:

Of course it's relative what's funny and what isn't. Plenty of people like Conan, so obviously his antics are amusing to many. I'd just rather watch Craig do 5 Questions than see Conan do some fake nerd laugh that he's already done a million times...on that night's show. :D

I love Conan at his best, but I doubt the Tonight Show will bring that out. Who knows. The Stanley Steamer line is hilarious though.

Leno and Kilborn are/were classy. Letterman is a sad old man. I've gained some respect for Conan over the years, so I wouldn't mind seeing him take over for Leno.

EDIT: Let's not forget Carson Daly and Jimmy Kimmel, guys! :D

He's boring and annoying.
Jay Leno isn't the best either, but I can stand him.

I totally agree on that one. Letterman is not even close to being funny. He's just corny, in my opinion. I have no clue why people like him so much.

I love corny. Letterman is subtle and doesn't care and that's what I like.
