Yes, you put into the search engine your own site, in my case "Loki 7" and it brings up Eyes on Final Fantasy, how twisted up is that?

Anyway, how often does a search engine such as google give you the result your after? Have you ever had any weird results?

Tell us about them :D Also I think a web comic called Machall used to have Google referers of Digimon Porn, that was funny xD

Wow, it does it for my website too. The first result actually is for the "Unrealistic Video Games" thread. The second result must be old, because it has my old signature in it, and it says I'm former staff.

Doesn't happen to my site. Of course, "Fool's Gold" renders several thousand hits and probably isn't the way most people find my site in the first place. :smash:

Yeah, my sites are at the top of Google too...only that they go to seperate pages in the site...rather than the index.

Searching for expectnomore yields my Cafepress shop and my friend's EQ guild page (I let him use the name) before my actual site. After that it shows my profile here...twice.

When I search for gamingsaga I get a french site, a dutch site, another french site, an arabic site, then two EoFF's.

Del Murder

When I used to search my name the first thing that comes up was...ME! It was the website of my old employment, but I've been gone from there for a while and so it doesn't come up anymore.

Conclusion: Yahoo! is far more up to date than Google is and tends to put more relevant sites nearer to the top, while Google goes by how large the site is (some of the highest results were mere mentionings of the word on massive sites). Google and Yahoo! both completely missed some results the other engines were able to get - Yahoo! doesn't have Eyes on Final Fantasy (nor EoffFF, although that's a dead site now so it's actually good that they don't have it). Google didn't have the more recent pages such as Del Murder's and Baloki's, confirming that Google is not that up to date. Yahoo! had more results overall (80 or so) while Google's results were often foreign sites regardless of me asking for English sites only.

Summary: This is why I search for sites using Yahoo! - although I still search for images using Google, at least for now. I've also noticed that Yahoo! spiders are around EoFF, Aiyon and the like a hell of a lot more often than Google spiders are. MSN is also really active lately, although I won't try their search engine because I don't like MSN and Yahoo! has never really failed me.
