When I first set up my system I made Windows XP Pro install on the C drive but not on the D drive (D being my 2nd hard drive) is it safe to delete the whole windows folder on my D drive? Because my D Drive is running low on space. It started off as a 20 gig now it only has about 3.5 gigs left.

If its installed on the C drive and theres a windows folder on the C drive then go right ahead :D

If you told it to install on C:, why is there a copy on D: in the first place? :p

I dunno why there's a windows folder on my D Drive. I didn't make it do that. I only formatted both discs before I installed XP. But it's safe to delete the one on my D Drive?

Is there a Windows folder on your C: drive? Is Windows going to boot to that folder? Check boot.ini on the C: drive. It should read something like this:

default=multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(1)\WINDOWS

Exactly that if C: was your default partition (and it should be).

Yeah, I was going to ask is it a windows partition or does it actually have Windows installed on the D drive (i.e. does it have WINNT, System32, System, etc... folders)?

It's partition(2) on my PC, and that's C: and my default active/boot partition for me :D partition(1) is my Win98 partition, though you could easily have other non-XP-readable partitions before the one you're going to install to at installation time to make that a different number :p
