okay im near the end i just have to go kick sin's arse so im getting all the good celestial weapons and stuff like that and completing overdrives and such like and i was wondering is there any way of getting into the fayth chambers or besaid temple and macalania temple without having to fight either dark valefor or dark shiva? cause i want the goodies from the fayth and the jecht sphere from outside bevelle temple.
plus now that im near the end i want to complete the sphere grid so i obviously need a few keys level 1-4 ones and hp,mp,etc spheres to fill in blank nodes with where do i get them all from? cause obviously yo must be able to complete the grid but you need all those things and quite a few of them and in the normal course of the game i havent come across nearly enough to finish off the grid so help!!
cheers.

Man, you REALLY don't need the celestial weapons or a complete spheregrid to take on the final boss and that stuff. Seriously... that would only make it so **** easy that it would ruin the end! You should first beat the game and THEN you should complete the spheregrid and get all the celestial weapons and stuff so that you can beat the dark aeons. You can beat the weaker dark aeons like Dark Valefor without celestial weapons but for the stronger ones you'll need the celestial weapons, almost completed spheregrid + very good armour. You should complete the monster arena before you take on the stronger dark aeons and the monster arena is also a good place to train your characters and get bonus spheres for the spheregrid. You know... those spheres that creates an extra nod with Def+4 etc.

You can defeat the Derk Aeons easily by using Yojimbo's Zanmato move to kill them instantly. It's not 'cheating', it's ruthless pragmatism:p

But I'll still call it "cheat". :p And I've never seen the point in doing it that way...
I'll also cost you alot of gil.

I'll also cost you alot of gil.If you're good (and patient), it only costs a few thousand gil each time.
If it was 'cheating' you'd have to hack the game to use it. Zanmato was deliberately made to be all-powerful; the creators obviously intended it this way.
The 'point' is that you don't lose thirty hours of your life stat-building if you don't want to.

True, true... and I know it's not really a "cheat" but in my opinion it's atleast very "cheap". :p
Anyway, what I mean is... what's the point in a 2 moves battle? summon>Zanmato.
There's no fun in doing it that way. The Dark Aeons was made into the game to be challanging. :greenie:

Dark Yojimbo is virtually impossible to beat with Zanmato alone. You have to be very rich or very lucky to get Zanmato five times in a row. I had to beat Dark Yojimbo about three times without Zanmato, so my team needed to be pretty strong anyway.
I could have used that same team to beat the other Dark Aeons, but that'd take so much time. Besides, Yojimbo was the last Dark Aeon I fought, so my characters were stronger than when I confronted Dark Valefor and the rest.

It's kind of rewarding:

Dark Aeon: Aha, weakling human! I am the ultimate enemy - of doom! I kill you with my 99999 damage special attack - of doom!

Me: Stfu! *Zanmato*

lol, yea...

But I still prefere a fair fight:

My overpowered Bahamut: Doublecast Ultima/Flare: about 44,000 dammage each time.
Dark Yojimbo: Konzuka: 4000-5000 dammage, Diagro: patetic dammage or Wakizashi: 10,000 dammage.

My Bahamut is also faster than Dark Yojimbo and when hasted I can attack 3-4 times before Dark Yojimbo get a move.

However... the high HP of the Dark Aeon + HIS Zanmato really means trouble sometimes...

Here's my strategy for Dark Yojimbo:

At the start of battle: Hastega, followed by Aim about three or four times, then Quick Hits. Each hit deals 99,999 damage, thanks to having characters with strength of 180 or so. Many attempts will end up missing, thanks to Dark Yojimbo's high Evasion, but hopefully enough will still get through. Quick Pockets is a helpful ability, since any hit from Dark Yojimbo may be instantly fatal, requiring immediate Phoenix Downs. Whenever his Overdrive gauge is nearly full, simply summon an Aeon. The Aeon will get to make one attack, then get killed by Dark Zanmato. Repeat until Dark Yojimbo dies...
The only risk is that your characters might miss too many times, meaning you run out of Aeons to sacrifice:p

Yea, I used that strat the last time I fought Dark Yojimbo.
But my first time my characters was simply way to weak... but my bahamut has always been my strongest aeons (even when including Anima and Magus sissters). He can't hit harder than Anima and Magus sissters but I've powered up his stats alot... 255def, 255 magdef, 255str, 255agility, 255mag, 255acc, 200+evasion, 800MP and 50,000HP. The other aeons have still far from that high stats...

But if your luck is 100+ and you have 255acc then you will never miss Dark Yojimbo. That's how I fought him last time...
