Honestly, I don't like slow songs. Especially from pop stars, but meh...

There are some good ones, though---Nirvana's "Polly" (if that's not the name, I'm sorry) is especially good. I like Limp Bizkit's "Drown", which I listen to whenever I'm depressed, or confused about something. Silverchair's slow songs are listenable as well.

:D

Dream Theater - Disappear

ehh...

Damn. DT has good slow songs, but they were all written by Kevin Moore. How is that their best?

Fates Warning has the best slow songs. Chasing Time is very under-appreciated. A pleasant shade of grey part VI is also really good.

If the emotion in Disappear doesn't strike you at all, then you're missing something... (read this thread: http://dreamtheater.net/bb/showthread.php?s=&threadid=58049)

Yes, Chasing Time is a great song. I'm not sure if I really have a favorite Fates ballad though.

Mad at Gravity - Stay

I can feel you pull away
And it's just as I lean in
And the timing leaves me wide open
With a miss I am betrayed
Slices right through my thick skin
Yet I seek another high

Im asking you to stay in my arms
Away youre breaking me apart
Stay in my arms
Away youre breaking me apart

And I'm out here on a limb
But I'm holding out my hand
Hoping you can make the climb with me
And I'm carving in the bark
And dropping down to where you stand
Trying silence on for size

Im asking you to stay in my arms
Away youre breaking me apart
Stay in my arms
Away youre breaking me apart

And I miss you in my fingers
And valleys in between
It's odd how feelings linger
For something yet unseen
Theres ages between
My heart and my mouth
My veins throb with that
Which I cant spit out
Now I dont need much
Just presence in mind
And the assurance
Your ache matches mine

Okay, I took your advice and did listen to Disappear again. I admit its a little better than I originally thought, but still...its like they were trying to make Space Dye Vest again, because those two songs sound extremely similiar. But the problem is that Kevin moore (aka god) wrote Space Dye Vest, so there's not a very good chance another slow DT song will be better than it.

What I consider a slow song might be different then what a lot of other people consider slow, but...(There's a certain degree that songs have to pass in order for me to consider them faster than slow.)

I'd say November Rain by Guns N' Roses followed right by The Perfect Ending by Straylight Run.

Disappear, like the rest of Six Degrees will really grow on you. Of course I didn't realise you're of the Kevin = God opinion. I think Space-Dye Vest just got old with me... it's good but I don't get shivers or anything from it anymore.
