why cant i beat penance?

I can't beat Penance can someone help? These are my stats and equipment:

Auron: str:255 def 255 mag: 255 mg def: 255 agil:255 eva:255 luck:134 acc:255
break damage limit, evade and counter, first strike, triple overdrive
ribbon, break hp limit, hp +30%, auto phoenix
hp: 48000 mp: 999
every a-ability (exept his final overdrive)

Yuna: str:255 def:255 mag:255 mg def:255 agil: 255 eva:255
luck:120 acc: 255
Break Damage Limit, Triple Overdrive, 1 MP Cost, Double AP
Ribbon, Break HP Limit, Auto Phoenix, HP +10%.
hp: 38000 mp: 999 (most a-abilitys)

Tidus: str 254 def:255 mag:255 mg def:255 agil:255
luck:79 acc:255
break damage limit, triple overdrive, (two other things I can't remember at this moment in time but I got the caladbolg)
ribbon, auto haste, hp+30%, break hp limit.
hp: 45000 mp:999 (most A-abilitys)

Why cant I beat him?? :cry: any ideas?? (Don't say yojimbo or cheats please)

Well... to start off with... DO NOT give up just because you lose the 2-3 first times you fight him.
Remember that he's the hardest FF boss ever!

1) You should get the celestial weapons for everyone that you use in this battle.
2) You should get better armour. Auto haste is the most important ability for this battle. Auto protect is recomended but you can do it without auto protect (I did).
3) Go for the arms. Kill the arms before you go for Penance and once the arms get back... kill them again.
4) Use Quick hit.
5) In Penance second form (when the lower part dissapears)... summon an aeon if Penance is getting a turn while both arms are alive because he will use JUDGEMENTS DAY!!! Which will do 99999 dammage and take away all your MP.

ive got all the celestial weapons, and i have all ready tried to beat it lots of time and i havent been able to do much at all. :(

That's good. But remember this: Auto haste is extremely important. The main problem is that you have to weak armours. Everyone should have Auto haste on their armour and Auto Protect is also very good to have and if you don't... then atleast use light curtains on your party.
