I love this idea, as I'm a huge fan of his. I think he could bring some edge to a ceremony that recently has been very boring and lacking.

Take care all.

I do not approve of this.

Anyways, it's not up to me...but really I HATE HIM!

I have no interest whatsoever in the Oscars.

That's probably because you'll never get nominated for one!

Just kidding...I don't really care for it either...

Chris Rock is fantastically unfunny and a borderline racist, in my opinion. I am displeased at any media attention he receives, though I don't watch the Oscars anyway.

*gags*

Oh, please, no. I agree with foa---I was watching him on.....(all right, I'll admit it) on OPRAH, and many of the comments he made were VERY racist. I'm not usually like this, but I was really offended, that he thought he could get away with that. He's not funny---most of jokes are insults, trying to prove the stupidity of someone else, when, in the process, he's just making himself look like even more of an ass. :rolleyes2

Plus, his voice is one of the most obnoxious I've ever heard. I don't think I'd be able to stand that for 4 hours or so. *shudder*

But I'm glad you'll enjoy it. [not sarcastic/] :)

What's ironic, is that I don't find him racist at all. Perhaps it's because I've been surrounded by minority cultures my whole life and what he says actually has much truth to it in all facets of life I've experienced.

To me, he's the George Carlin of this generation.

Well, to each their own.

Take care all.

To me, he's the George Carlin of this generation.Oh, I understand what he's saying is pretty accurate, which is why I said borderline racist, and when I say that, I mean to all races. I could be a little uptight about it, but meh. Also, I do see the similarities between Rock and George Carlin.

The thing with Chris Rock is that he is very abrasive to ALL people, or at least that's what I've gathered. That seems to be the way most comics are going these days (di I really just say 'these days'...).

I think he'd be good at something which has a more popular appeal, like the MTV awardsetc. but the Oscars are for a different sort of person, and tend to be watched by older people, who might not understand or like his humor

I don't really care for the Oscars, but I kinda like Chris Rock.

Why?

Dogma. I can even tolerate Ben Affleck and Matt Damon because of it. Notice that I said tolerate. :p

Ouch!

I love Chris Rock to death. I think the Oscars are going to be a bit more fun this year. Yeah, a lot of his jokes are somewhat racist, but he gets everyone in there, and like others have said, it does fit with how things are.

I highly doubt that they'll let him use that kind of comedy at the Oscars anyways, but surely he can do something else.

I think Chris Rock is hilarious, but I don't care much for award shows.

I don't really care for most if his humor, but Dogma was awesome. And as far as him hosting the Oscar, I think it's great. Even though I don't like the guy, tossing a lose cannon such as himself into the middle of the politicaly correct Oscars makes this interesting. I think I might turn it on for a few minutes just to check it out....

Chris Rock well...rocks. He's so damn hilarious.

Him or Chris Tucker would be a great host to a show. I never watch award shows, so it doesn't bother me...but I might watch just to see Chris Rock. Dave Chapelle would be a great host, or maybe Chevy Chase. Steve Martin is okay, but he tends to make himself too "white" that I feel like tossing my TV.
