Rubedo: Secondly, I'm sure many others know that information since I haven't touched FFVII for about a year, but from my memory, I'm pretty sure that armor found around the world map area from enemies, and/or some temples have them.

Wantz is way to expensive, even if you gave O'aka enough money in the beginning of the game. If you want to spend that money then go ahead, but there's a much easier way. Go capture an Adamantoise from Inside Sin if you have gotten that far. Then go to the monster arena and fight it repeatedly. You will get empty 4-slot weapons and armor from it. Any weapon or armor you don't want or have too many of you can just sell and those will more than pay for your monster arena fees.

And I believe you can find Wantz if you enter Macalania Woods from the Thunder Plains.
