I was just wondering what stat effects your ability to draw magic?

Characters seem to either draw really well, or very poorly...

EG - Squall always draws for 7's and 9's, where as Quistis usually draws for 3-5.

Anyone know?

chaos: Well, there is nothing that raises that. It's chosen by random and how many draw spells that monster has.

Albedo: *Laughs maniacally* If you are lucky, you will get a large number, although, luck can always turn the other way.

Nope, you're actually wrong Seiken. The "Mag" status effects the ability to draw!

I figured as much, since my Zell always REALLY sucks at drawing.

Haha, same here. I was wondering why that was too, I thought it was
luck though. While we're on that subject, what the hell does luck do anyway?

Luck usually affects critical hit rates and how often the enemy attacks you. Not sure which if either are used in this game. You just push the button for Squall's critical so I guess it would be useless for him.

Luck also affects the likelihood of special/high level magic appearing in Selphie's Slot, as well as the type and number of items you can Mug from an enemy. I think it has more uses such as the number of critical hits you land, and possibly the time it takes to recover from a status ailment (although this may be Spr).

Anyone know? The higher your magic stat when you draw magic from enemies the more magic you recieve.

Doesn't luck affect Gilgamesh's chosen attack when he appears?

Luck also affects the probabiliry of Odin/Gilgamesh apearing and with high luck, you can dodge attack more easyly.
