Whether it's biting nails, talking on cell phones in check out aisles, or newbs starting threads... What is it that drives you to brink of insanity.

My pet peeves:

-People who eat with their mouths open, suck their teeth or smack their lips
-Being interrupted in mid sentence
-Telemarketers

My pet peeves are people making threads asking about pet peeves, and Don Le. Don Le is totally my biggest pet peeve. I just <i>can't</i> stand people with the name Don Le. Does anyone else agree with me?

Being a cashier for Safeway, I have a long list of pet peeves. Here's a few of them:

-Attempting to go over the limit in the express lane
-Plopping a handbasket on the counter without unloading it
-Bombarding me with a telephone number without uttering so much as a "Hello"
-Unloading groceries on the counter and then leaving to get "one thing I forgot" (it's ALWAYS more than one)
-Blaming me for things that are CLEARLY not my fault (such as forgetting their PIN#, or using an expired credit card)
-Coming through the checkstand with a truckload of groceries five minutes before closing
-Blatent disregard for company policies (in particular, no exchanges or returns without a receipt)
-Cutting into the line (I don't CARE if you're in a hurry; you can wait your turn like the rest of the people here!)
-Unloading mittfuls of loose change (especially when the line-ups are long)
-Calling the store with stupid questions

-My grandmother's voice. *shudder* Its so high-pitched when she yells, and I have sensitive ears.
-The fact that everyone expects me to yell across the house when they call me for something. I hate to yell, and if I don't answer then they yell again after three seconds. Its so irritating.

-People who talk on their cellphones in the theatre. (Cinema or stage.)

-People who feel the need to interrupt my meditation. (I finally clear my mind, and start to find myself, and all of a sudden..."CHASE!!!" Or as I hear it "SCREEEE" *shudder* Just thinking about that drives me crazy)
-Creative writing assignments
-People who hate poetry because its "gay"
-People who call me gay because I like poetry and opera.
-People who use gay as an insult.
-People who think having sex is the most important thing you can do.
-People who hate technology, because its "unnatural" or "against God's will"

I'm guilty of those. But on the first one, I'm good at keeping it at one, and on the second, if I'm counting change, I try to make it fast, and it's cuz I'm out of options...

-Interrupting me in the middle of a job to give you a hand. It's not easy for me to get a rhythm, and that always :love::love::love::love:s me up!
-Demanding my undivided attention.
-Excessively talkative people. I am an expess listener! Fifteen words or less and then TAKE A BREATH!
-People who feel the need to slag everything not completely "normal..."
-Needy pets.
-Needy people.
-People who are just mean/cold.
-WINTER! Yeah it's a fact of life, but I still don't have to like it!

I see alot of people have a problem with arrogance, it has never really bothered me unless I couldn't laugh or walk away from it. However, the following does bother me:

People spelling my online name (BoB) as Bob or bob or boob or b00b or BooB or something along those lines. It's not BoB for the reason of TyPiNg LiKe ThIs, it's BoB because that's how I write it (a lower case o between two capital B's) and it seperates me from my cat (Bob).

Stringers (the people who walk down a street/around town very slowly, side-by-side, so that you end up stuck behind them and have no way of getting through)

Voicemails that don't say the name of who you're calling. How do I know this person even realises they <i>have</i> a voicemail? What if they don't check it? What if this isn't their phone anymore? People change phones like they change their sheets, so I sure as hell can't be sure.

People who will only stop doing something if you tell them the very long story about why you don't like them doing it. For example, people calling me Danny Boy. I don't like it because of a certain person committing suicide. Do I have to go through with telling that kind of story just to get you to stop calling me a name that reminds me of this kind of thing? If I ask you to stop it, there's generally a reason.

People saying EoFF has gone to hell. No, EoFF hasn't gone to hell. Your opinion of EoFF has gone to hell, that's all. Craploads of people still like it, old and new. You don't. Spot the difference? The difference is you.

People thinking you don't love them anymore or something along those lines just because you don't talk to them as much. Sometimes you just don't feel like talking, and sometimes this can last for months. It happens. I don't love that person less. The same goes for people getting all unhappy because you don't reply to their IM's. If I don't reply, I'm either not there or I don't feel like talking. Those are the reasons. If I don't reply, then you can assume one of those reasons. I could not love you or like you at all and still be just as likely to reply (or not reply), you know. Me replying to your IM has nothing to do with how much I like you at all.

People who back out of commitments. If you never really intended on making the effort to meet me, don't say you'll meet me. Be honest with your reasons - I won't think any less of you. I'd rather you tell me "I just don't really feel like meeting you right now." then having you say "I can't wait to meet you, it'll be so exciting!" and then having you back out later on because you decided to do something else, or because you were scared/nervous/whatever. I can wait years to meet someone, just say the reason that year isn't now and I'm fine. I like to be able to trust/depend on people.

People who label other people hypocrites as if it's a bad, evil thing. Get over it! Everyone is a hypocrite in some way. Do as we say, not as we do. :p I'm a hypocrite. Just because I say you shouldn't do it doesn't mean I don't do it. Just because I do it doesn't mean I think I should do it. Maybe I do think I should be able to do it and you shouldn't. So I'm a hypocrite. But I'm sure that you're a hypocrite for calling me a hypocrite.

People who say they never lie. I don't know why this is a pet peeve of mine but it is. I think that if you know you don't lie, good for you, but nobody else can ever really know for sure but you, so it's useless to go around telling people that you never lie. How do we know? We don't. If you want me to trust you, ask me to trust you. Don't tell me that you never lie.
